The Original Sound of Music Tour

For lovers of the traditional musical extravaganza, a tour of all the original filming locations around Salzburg is an absolute must for Sound of Music fans. There's a raucous singalong on the bus and some beautiful scenery - a great way to explore Salzburg.

The Alps

One of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe; perfect for sight-seeing and ideal in the summer months for hiking, mountain biking or even paragliding - imagine the views! If you don't mind the chill either there are some amazing alpine lakes that are fun for swimming. Check out more about visiting The Alps here.\n

Salzburg Fortress

An amazing 11th century castle perched just outside of the town on a hill, complete with museum and amazing views. The walk up to the castle is perfect for a morning's exploration, or if you don't fancy the walk there's a cable car to take you to the top. Perfect for history fanatics.

Prater

For a day of fun why not head to Vienna's amusement park, Prater - the oldest recorded amusement park in the world, first mentioned in 1162! It's open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - plus entry is free, you only pay for the attractions. You MUST ride the ferris wheel - it was originally built in 1897 and can be seen from quite a distance, making it one of Vienna's landmarks.

Schönbrunn Palace

A ginormous Baroque palace and one of the most important monuments in the country. It's better to buy your admission tickets online if you're planning on going during peak times, and taking a tour of the 1,441 17th century rooms is highly recommended to make the most of your visit.\n
