Why The Alps?

A honeymoon in the Alps means you will be surrounded by stunningly beautiful mountain ranges making up almost one-tenth of Europe’s land mass. Whilst the Alps are traditionally known for the incredible skiing on offer, the trekking, climbing, canyoning and mountain biking options in the summer make this place a fantastic place to visit nearly all year round. Spread across the countries of France, Austria, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Slovenia and Liechtenstein, on average – 120 million people visit the Alps every year and with exceptional food and skiing on offer, an Alps honeymoon truly is the perfect destination.

Key information

An Alps honeymoon would make a fantastic destination for so many reasons. This stunningly beautiful mountain range will take your breath away and create the perfect romantic scene upon which you can truly celebrate your honeymoon in style. Whilst it is not the cheapest place to visit, you pay for quality and all of the resorts are maintained and run with close to military precision, allowing you to get out on those slopes as much as possible and enjoy some of the best skiing in the world!

About the activities:

For centuries, the Alps used to be known for its agriculture, although now the principal contributor to the economy is the tourism industry, with fantastic skiing running from November though to March. Likewise, in the summer (June – August), there is arguably more to do if you’re a nature lover: hiking, trekking, climbing, paragliding, canyoning and mountain biking being the obvious examples. Some of the most popular resorts to visit include Meribel, Courchevel, Verbier and Chamonix.

About the weather:

Given the altitude, the weather varies dramatically in the Alps depending upon where you are and when you go. The best time to go skiing is from November – March (depending on what resort you choose to go to), and then for all of the summer-based activities, we suggest visiting between June – August – when the air is crisp and the skies are usually crystal clear.

What we love:

The landscape. Unlike anywhere else in the world, the Alps is so romantic – it’ll make the perfect honeymoon destination.
