About Hawaiian Shirt Photography

My name is Tom and I’ve had a passion for film, photography, (and Hawaiian Shirts!) from a young age. Hawaiian Shirt Photography was formed from these three loves. For me, great photography and videography is a mixture of an eye for a great shot, passion and enthusiasm, and a love of technology. There are so many great cameras, lenses, sound equipment, and even drones out there and I love learning about the latest gadgets and using them to enhance my work.

With weddings, as well as producing beautiful images, I believe it’s equally important to create a great experience. The photographer and videographer really help with the vibe of the day. I aim for the right mixture of relaxed but organised, unobtrusive, but happy to try fun shots with those who want to.
You can book me for photography, videography or both. If you go for the combined package I’ll bring a second person along from a team of fantastic people I work regularly with.

I’d describe my style as pretty candid but not completely! Although most of the day works best staying in the background and capturing people while they are not looking, there is certainly a place for some nice group shots and definitely a couple shoot (which can be a really lovely part of the day, as it’s where you can escape the madness for a little bit). I’m used to shy and awkward couples, actually thinking about it perhaps that’s specialty…It’s a nice challenge to bring out natural smiles from those who are not super comfortable in front of the lens.

In terms of booking, I try to make it really organised, with a few forms to make the planning seamless and a fun part of the experience. If you or your venue are local to Surrey we can meet up for a meeting in person or have a venue scout beforehand, or if you are booking from a distance, the world has embraced video calls and this works really nicely as well.

P.S I don’t have to wear a Hawaiian Shirt to the wedding if you don’t want that
