About Glewstone Court Country House
Glewstone Court sits in the Herefordshire countryside near Ross-on-Wye within a Grade II-listed Georgian manor house and its grounds. The house and gardens are offered on an exclusive-use basis for weddings, with ten bedrooms available so couples and their guests can stay overnight.
Civil ceremonies and receptions take place in a choice of three reception rooms that retain period features and are lit by natural light, and outdoor ceremonies can be held among the gardens or under the shade of the 500-year-old Cedar of Lebanon. Local churches such as St Matthew’s in Marstow and St Mary’s Parish Church in Ross-on-Wye are nearby for those who wish to marry there. After vows, wedding breakfasts are served using menus that draw on local Herefordshire ingredients and include traditional or contemporary options, and summer menus can feature barbecue or hog roast choices. The house’s drawing room accommodates evening celebrations for up to around 130 guests, with space for a DJ, live band or singer, and a lounge area with a fire offers a quieter spot. Exclusive hire includes the house, grounds and fully staffed kitchen throughout the period of a couple’s celebrations, and options exist to extend events over multiple days to include gatherings the night before or breakfast the day after.

Yes, we are an exclusive-use venue. Your day is all about you and your wedding only so we are dedicated in hosting your special day!
We hold a licence to host civil wedding ceremonies and partnerships for up to 80 guests.
You certainly can! Whether it’s overlooking the apple orchards or under our 350-year-old Cedar tree, the choice is yours as to how you wish to celebrate the most important day of your life
Yes we do charge a corkage fee if you choose to bring in your own wine.
We don't allow external caterers, however our in-house food is set at a 2-rosette standard, so I am confident that you and your guests will love our food!!
Access to the venue for set up is 11am on the day of your wedding.
We finish at 11pm but you are more than welcome to extend this for a supplement to 12am or 1am.
All LIVE music is to stop at 11pm but a DJ can continue until 12am
Due to our rural location and proximity to farms, we do not allow fireworks. However, we have had couples bring in a bit of sparkle and we do allow sparklers which can be used outside when the light goes down and the party starts!
We allow biodegradable confetti or dried flowers/petals.
We can hold high candles on tables and as you walk down the aisle as long as they are water floating candles.
Yes, we have our beautifully decorated Gainsborough Suite which is huge.
Yes. We have 9 guest bedrooms on site (not including the honeymoon suite).
