The UK offers a huge variety of activities for hen groups. In every corner of the country you can find a host of different activities, from the more traditional like paint-balling to the slightly wacky, 'It's a Knockout' style games. If you're looking to do something different for a fun-filled hen party, then check out these 10 ideas....

1. Multi Activity Games

A relatively new kid on the hen weekend activities block! Remember 'Its a Knockout'? If you are too young to remember the 80's TV show then hop on to YouTube and take a look. South West based operator West Country Games offers a range of 9 totally unique crazy games to make any Bristol hen weekend a hit. If heading to Bristol isn’t on the list, then you can head over the water to Welsh Games for a Cardiff hen party with a difference. For around £38 per person you will be presented with nine West Country or Welsh themed games with fancy dress for the hen, photos and prizes included!

2. Paint Balling

Paint balling has been around a few years now but is still a popular group activity. One popular theme is a 'Hunt the Hen' where the poor hen-to-be is hunted down by her friends. You will find paint balling outfits pretty much UK wide although they tend to be more in the countryside rather than towns. Prices start as low as £10 so it's one of the cheaper activities.

3. Clay Pigeon Shooting

Staying on the traditional theme in the countryside, why not consider a bit of clay pigeon shooting? It may not have the same level of excitement as the other activities, but it is still a popular option for Hen parties. Clay pigeon shooting can be found at more than 100 locations around the UK, with prices starting from £30.

4. Indoor and Outdoor Karting

Traditionally karting or go-karting was the reserve of a testosterone filled stag weekend but increasingly hen parties are getting involved in the action and many companies are now tailoring packages for both sexes. Karting is pretty much available at any well known hen destination city. Prizes are usually on offer which helps keep racing competitive. The usual minimum group size would be around 8 participants and prices start from as low as £35 p/p for one hour making it a pretty affordable option.

5. Segway Tours

The new toy on the black, Segway is like a motorized scooter that the likes of Brooklyn Beckham is frequently seen on! Segway tours can be found in every major tourist city these days and are a fun way to see the sights. Segway tours can also be undertaken off road in the countryside too. Prices for Segway tours start around £20 for about one hour which usually includes instruction. It may look tricky but most people can ride one within 10 minutes of instruction.

6.White Water Rafting

If you are looking for a group activity that's a little more thrilling then white water rafting ticks a lot of boxes. Rafting is surprisingly popular in the UK and the locations that offer the most challenging rapids would be the mountainous areas of Wales and Scotland. Rafts can vary in size but mostly you would have eight in a raft plus an instructor.  Whitewater UK nr Llangollen, North Wales charge from £55 per person. Of course rafting is more a summer activity but you'll always be wearing a wet suit so the cold is not an issue.

7. Ten Pin Bowling

Another affordable activity that is popular with hen parties is ten pin bowling. Bowling alleys are found in every town and city and are a safe bet for a fun filled competitive activity. Prices are very cheap compared to many other activities starting from around £9 per game. The other cool thing about Ten Pin Bowling is that it doesn't matter what size your group is. You can play if there are 3 or 30 of you!

8. Archery

Move over Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games! Good old archery is another stalwart activity for a hen weekend and is becoming very popular in the UK. Archery centres can be found around the country and the sport is another affordable option with prices per person starting from £10. Expect to pay a little more if your group wants instruction.

9. Mountain Biking

Get your group on their bikes! If your hen destination is near one of the UK's purpose built mountain biking centres then this is an awesome option. Wales is the self-proclaimed mountain biking capital of the UK with lots of specialist centres that will provide all the equipment you need. In the Forest of Dean, for example, you can hire a good quality bike and safety equipment from just £20 for three hours, and if your group are not use to it, then three hours will be enough.

10. Zombie Boot Camp

So for our last entry we thought we'd include something a bit different. How about being trained in military combat to take on groups of zombies in various adventure scenarios? One centre based just outside Birmingham offers four hour boot camps. The minimum is eight persons and usually includes accommodation with prices starting from around £100 per person - including everything you'll need to save the world from the zombies!
