Idyllically located in the Pembrokeshire countryside, Wolfscastle Country Hotel is a 4-star venue which offers stunning surroundings and convenient access to local countryside attractions.  The hotel provides the perfect setting for a weekend escape and is also a beautiful venue for a wedding. The castle used to be a vicarage and is steeped in Welsh history which adds to its unique and historical charm. The hotel was built by the incoming Anglo-Normans to protect their South Pembrokeshire colony from the Welsh and to support the expansion of their colony to the north and east.

Accommodation

The hotel is a careful blend of old and the new, with the bedrooms balancing practicality as well as comfort. Each bedroom has been recently refurbished and comes with Hypnos beds and an ensuite. Of the 20 bedrooms, there are five larger rooms (the Stirling rooms). These rooms comes with their very own seating area and deluxe bathroom.

Dining

Over the years, Wolfcastle Country Hotel has built an enviable reputation for their fine cuisine. Using lots of fresh Pembrokeshire produce, the hotel has recently been awarded Two AA Rosettes for culinary excellence.  Guests can choose between the Brasserie and Allt yr Afon Restaurant which are both open 7 days a week, serving an al a carte and traditional bar meals.

Things to do

A couple of minutes walk from the hotel lies the stunning Anghof Valley, which is perfect for romantic woodland walks along the river – it’s virtually undiscovered, and you’ll feel as though you’ve entered some kind of Welsh fairyland! You may also like to hike up to Treffgarne Rocks, which overlooks the dramatic Treffgarne Gorge. The views are stunning and the rock formations belong in a book of myths and legends.

Or how about exploring further afield? Head up into the wild and enigmatic Preseli Mountains, littered with fascinating places, from the holy mountain of Carn Ingli (Angel Mountain) to Carn Meini, where many of Stonehenge’s bluestones originate.
Don’t miss the awesome National Park Coastline where you can enjoy stunning sandy beaches, go whale and seal watching, explore a picture postcard fishing village, or head to the ancient Cathedral city of St. Davids.
