Leez Priory is a magical place and you can feel the magic from the moment you arrive. The winding country lanes that lead you there build the suspense of what you may find nestled amongst such glorious countryside. Meander along the driveway and arrive with Leez Priory front and centre ahead of you. A historic Essex wedding venue

Steeped in history this 40-acre site boasts manicured parkland, lakes, wood land and a babbling brook. The grounds are splendid throughout the seasons changing from luscious greens in the summer to autumnal tones and back again with a blanket of white snow on occasions. Wildlife roams freely in the form of deer, rabbits, ducks, geese and even the odd swan comes to visit! Enjoy a leisurely stroll on your day and bask in the many photograph opportunities that await.

The original Priory was sadly demolished over 400 years ago but today we have the remains of the glorious manor house that took its place. Constructed in 1536 what we see today is actually just a portion of the manor house and the ruins of the rest of the property can still be observed in the grounds. The peace and tranquility of the once religious ground can still be felt in the air today. The demolition of part of the newer house has presented us with a magnificent standalone Tower that would previously have formed part of the main structure.

A true countryside getaway

Enter the house through the original carriageway doors and observe the character in abundance. The flagstone floor and the exposed red brick are an authentic and inspiring welcome to all guests. The bar can be found to your left with a roaring log fire to welcome you. Whilst the bar offers a wide range of refreshments to all, the room itself retains the character of the property with exposed beams, leaded windows and the smell of the fire. Two further reception rooms are available. The Light Oak room offers an Oak paneled space with fireplace and plays host to the baby grand piano for you to enjoy. The Tudor Room has a completely different feel with an enormous fireplace of exposed brick as an exceptional feature.

If you venture up the Tudor staircase, you will be greeted with the Great Hall. A room with a vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and feature fireplace that is sure to leave all guests in awe of the magnificence of the place in which they are experiencing.

For a more rustic or contemporary feel, why not opt for the Coach House? A listed barn within the grounds of the estate, larger parties can dine here. It's ideal for couples searching for a barn Essex wedding venue.
