As stricter measures and short-sharp lockdowns are imposed throughout the UK again, many will be spending more time at home again. So, many couples will be turning their thoughts to their weddings from the safety of their homes.

Lots of couples have been forced to adjust their wedding plans, or rearrange the big day altogether. But in the midst of every crisis lies great opportunity, and in these times perhaps you could focus your attention on some wedding preparation.

If that’s the case for you, here is our guide to some of the wedmin tasks you can complete whilst stuck at home…

Start Writing Vows and Speeches

It goes without saying that there will be some tasks which you cannot complete until the closer to your wedding. One thing which you can do, however, is begin writing your vows and speeches. If you aren't great with words, it's also the perfect opportunity to hire a speech writer to create a touching and funny wedding speech on your behalf. These big elements of your day take time, so it's a good idea to be extra prepared.

While things seem to be changing constantly and remain uncertain, one thing which will not change is that your fiancé is the most special person in your life. So, why not start to write down exactly why they are so important to you? You can always make edits as the wedding draws closer, but giving yourself plenty of time will make sure that you can find the perfect words for your partner.

Make What Arrangements You Can

If you already have a date or venue picked out, and provided that you can be fairly sure this won’t be affected by the current climate, you can look at booking some of the suppliers and services you’re going to need.

Of course, you may not be able to make arrangements with some people due to social-distancing or lockdown rules, but lots of suppliers will be happy to speak to you on a phone or video call. After such an uncertain and tough period, they will likely be relieved to take bookings, especially if they are sole trader specialists like photographers and DJs.

Even if you can’t make concrete plans, lots of services will allow you to make enquiries or place a deposit to hold dates in reserve for a time, so it’s well worth getting in touch with them.

Set up a Gift list or Honeymoon Fund

Many guests will want to give some sort of gift to congratulate you on your wedding. Often guests won't know what to give you and find a gift list helpful to know exactly what they need to get you. So, instead of receiving another cutlery set that you don't really need, why not allow guest to contribute to specific items or even to your honeymoon adventures? Using platforms like Prezola, you can set up an online gift list or honeymoon fund; this allows your guests to contribute what they can afford to something you'd actually like!

Browse Honeymoons

Travel is currently very limited but it will return again. So, this shouldn’t stop you from looking at potential honeymoons.

A little research can uncover a hidden gem of a hotel or a relaxing resort which might be ideal. What better chance to dedicate some time to the pursuit of your dream honeymoon?
