Weddings at Villa Cora

I would challenge any couple to look around Villa Cora and then not choose it for their wedding venue. It is nestled into the hill above Florence, within easy walking distance of the city centre via the beautiful and historic Boboli Gardens, and far enough away to completely escape the crowds and the intense summer heat.

Most couples opt to have their wedding reception the poolside Bistro Restaurant, which seats up to 80. It offers a semi-formal setting with stunning table settings and elegant banqueting chairs, the formal effect being softened by lots of huge glass windows and beautiful green and cream striped fabric on the walls and ceilings, which give the impression that you are in a very luxurious marquee. The bistro opens out onto a clear blue pool with ample space for a drinks reception or relaxation, all overlooking the Florence skyline.

For smaller weddings the hotel's main building offers several options, all totally different but with the opulent Italian ballroom, with its huge chandelier's and ornately carved mirror frames, being a favourite for the most formal affairs.

Service at Villa Cora is exceptional and you will have no doubts that every whim will be attended to by the team of discreet and professional staff. The food is outstanding.

After the wedding there are plenty of luxurious guest rooms for your guests to prolong their stay, including two in a separate cottage within the grounds.

The hotel also boasts a small spa with treatment rooms.

While we were enjoying our stay at Villa Cora a couple who were looking for a wedding venue met with in-house wedding coordinator Marco. Both were from Italy but now settled in the UK. It was evident from their faces that they needed to look no further for their perfect wedding venue and indeed Marco confirmed the next day that they were just waiting to hear when in August the wedding would be.

Who wouldn't want to marry here, with its opulent Italian ballroom or alfresco poolside setting? We are looking forward to catching up with them and hearing how their plans for their Villa Cora wedding are going.
