Weddings are a great excuse to wear a hat or fascinator but finding the right hat can be a challenge. Depending on what colour and style outfit you want to wear, you may wish to match your hat accordingly. You can always choose to wear a fascinator - fascinators are an excellent elegant alternative to hats and come in a range of different styles! We know how important hats are for weddings, but on Friday 28th March they will be serving a different purpose.

This Friday 28th March, Brain Tumour Research will be having a #WearAHatDay. #WearAHatDay is in its fifth year and is the most famous brain tumour awareness campaign in the UK. It is easy to become involved - simply find a hat of your choice to wear and pay a £1 donation to Brain Tumour Research. You can text WEAR12 to 70070 followed by £1, £2, £3, £4, £5 or £10.

You will have heard about the #nomakeupselfie, whereby women have been taking a photo of themselves without makeup and texting BEAT to 70099  to donate £3 to Cancer Research (you can also visit their website to make a donation). This caused a social media explosion, with photos and donations flooding in all over social media. The result? A staggering 8 million pounds in donations, proving social media is a successful campaign tool and also serving as encouragement for other charities to get involved - such as Brain Tumour Research.

#WearAHatDay

Louise Claire Millinery has been steadily promoting #WearAHatDay and will be selling hat pins at her shop at only £1 each - the idea being that people will try hats on whilst visiting the shop, take pictures, have fun and most importantly donate. With over 1200 hats and fascinators in various colours and styles ready in stock, there will be plenty to choose from.

#WearAHatDay

Make sure you find a hat to wear for Friday! If you upload any photos onto Facebook or Twitter, remember to use #WearAHatDay!
