Utopia Spa is The Skin Care Sanctuary “Elite Spa of the year 2008”. This is the second year running Utopia has awarded this accolade and from what we saw, it is very well deserved.
Whether you are looking for a suitable spa for a hen party or a romantic weekend with a bit of pampering, this spa really does tick all of the boxes.
The decor throughout is delightful, the 3 AA Rosette cuisine is sublime, the staff are experienced and courteous and we couldn't fault the spa treatments. All round, an excellent spa.

Over 60 different types of face and body treatments, ranging from La Stone Therapy to Nail Grooming for Men, are offered in the 19 treatment rooms. There is fully equipped gymnasium, aerobics studio with classes from yoga to spinning, an excercise pool, and on a lower level you will find a 10 metre therapy pool with underwater massage beds and a therapeutic waterfall, in addition to a jacuzzi, steam room and saunas. There is also a hairdressing salon.
There is a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere to this spa, with guests in both the spa and the adjoining hotel moving around in gown and slippers.
The spa reception is accessed through the hotel's lounge and the staff at the reception desk were welcoming and courteous. There is a hairdressing salon and nail bar in the reception area, and a wide range of health and beauty merchandise.
A wide staircase takes you down to spacious and very well equipped changing rooms, each with a single-sex sauna, and though to the main feature of the spa; a 5 metre pool with a therapeutic waterfall and underwater massage beds. There are around a dozen loungers and a Jacuzzi, and steps leading to a larger pool above, with additional loungers and magazines. The gym is well equipped, and there are a range of classes, however the glass doors between the gym and the main pool made the lower of the two pools the most obvious choice for relaxation.
The treatments were excellent – we can particularly recommend the La Stone Therapy – and all were carried out by polite, well trained staff, all of whom clearly enjoyed working at Rowhill Grange.
