By choosing a genuine vintage wedding car for your wedding day you will be travelling back to the golden days of motoring. Carefree times of style and elegance that characterised the 1920’s and 30’s.  A time when prestigious cars, endowed with individuality, were lovingly assembled by craftsmen. Deep lustrous chrome, real hand polished wooden dashboards, the smell of cared for leather - nothing comes close. However take care, there are certain things you need to check before hiring a car. The following information has kindly been supplied by Lagonda Hire What an ideal complement to your wedding day especially when you have the attentive service of a highly experienced chauffeur in period uniform. Not only will he drive you carefully and considerately but he is on hand to assist in every way possible and ensure your complete comfort. Order chilled champagne and he will serve it before you leave for the reception. Ask him if the children can have their photos taken in the car and he will willingly oblige. Nothing is too much trouble. Your vintage experience often starts with a trial ride. Owner drivers will happily show you their cars, discuss how you can make the best use of the vehicle on the day, propose an itinerary and take you for a short ride, all without any obligation to book. Booking is simplicity itself. The price you pay will be for the complete occasion, there are no extras for time or mileage so why not ask that the bridegroom and best man are transported to the ceremony first, then let the chauffeur take the bridesmaids before returning in good time for the bride and father to make their stylish arrival. When the ceremony is over the car will be waiting for you but there will be no rush, your guests will have plenty of time to admire your choice of transport before you are driven away down quiet country lanes, perhaps with the hood down, experiencing all the pleasures of the countryside but, should the heavens open, rest assured your chauffeur will have the top up in a matter of seconds. Once at the reception you may wish to have further photographs and your chauffeur will be in no hurry to leave, happy to talk to guests who have an interest in older cars. When his services are no longer required he will depart, leaving you to enjoy the rest of your day and with wonderful memories for the rest of your lives. Traditionally just two cars are hired. One for the Bride's Mother and the Bridesmaids, and the second for the Bride and her Father, or person who is giving her away. The Groom's family usually hire their own transport if required. The majority of companies will wait during your service and then transport the most important party members to the Reception - however do ensure that you have specified this requirement! Many couples decide to provide a minibus, coach or fleet of taxis to enable their guests, especially elderly or disabled guests, to reach the reception venue comfortably.
