Top 5 things to do in the first month of your engagement
Congratulations on your engagement! Now that you’re engaged you may feel a little overwhelmed – here we guide you through your first month with the top five must-do’s!
1. Spread the news!
This one seems obvious but of course this comes in at number one! Start with your VIPs (parents, siblings and best friends) then head over to social media and post that Instagram worthy shot! Take a look at some of our favourite Instagram announcements from last year.
2. Photo shoot!
Next up has to be an engagement photoshoot. Wouldn’t it be lovely to have a gorgeous photo of the two of you with that beautiful new sparkler in tow! These photos will prove invaluable during the planning process, perfect for save the dates and a cover photo for your must-have wedding website!
Top tip: Fresh manicures are totally worth it!
3. Get your ring sized and insured!
You’ve just got that beautiful diamond you’ve dreamed about since you were little, now you definitely don’t want to lose it. Make sure the ring is sized perfectly for you and think about getting it insured. That ring isn’t going anywhere!
4. Plan date nights with your fiance!
Wedding planning and events will take up all your time soon enough so make sure you spend quality time with that special someone. Try not to talk wedding planning too much and enjoy some time for just the two of you.
5. Get planning!
Whilst it is important to enjoy quality time together before planning, it is inevitable that it must begin. Try to set a date and get booking as soon as you can – you don’t want to miss out! Why not sign up for the Guides for Brides Wedding Planner to help you stay organised and guide you through the process? Don’t forget – to visit venues before you book and dream big!
