The Shoot

The shoot at Eastington Park was the brainchild of Keyleigh Davies of Keyleigh Marie Weddings who wanted to create a classic Timeless Spring theme which would stand the test of time. It was captured by the exceptionally talented Hannah Sharpe Photography. At the core of the theme were soft blush pinks and gentle blues which seamlessly blended across all elements of the styling for the shoot. Teamwork was at the centre of the day, so the small team of suppliers created an elegant and classic wedding look.

Here’s more from Keyleigh about how she approaches her work and what inspired her to create the Timeless Spring theme:

“As a wedding planner I know it is important to build long-lasting and true relationships with suppliers. Especially, ones with whom I can recommend to my clients with the utmost trust. Whilst a real wedding is a great opportunity to build these relationships, there is no better way to do this than getting together (with cake) and letting all creativity flow. All while having some fun!

The biggest influence for the theme of the shoot was a classical and timeless wedding combined with spring. Flowers are blooming, days are longer, and the weather is warmer.

There is a smell of blossom in the air and an array of pastel colours to choose from. All essentials for many couples on their perfect day!  Everything that spring symbolises - joy, love and new beginnings - makes it a magnificent time of year to start the next chapter of your life as a married couple.”

The Bridal Look

The day began with creating the bridal look with hair by Kate of Duet Hair & Make Up and Make Up by Lisa. Here’s more about the team behind the bridal look and how they created the look on the day:

“Duet Occasion Hair & Makeup was co-founded by myself and my twin sister Laura. I have a love and passion for creating hairstyles for any special occasion. Laura has a talent for and a love of makeup. I have been in the industry for 18 years. I based this elegant style around the beautifully detailed dress and theme, using subtle twist in the hair into a simple low bun to compliment the Cathedral veil.”

Alongside Duet Occasion was Make-up Artist Lisa Hannah who created the bridal look. She explains her approach:

“Along with my love of Makeup, I have a creative arts background and trained at the DFMA Academy. I have a passion and flair for creating beautiful bespoke makeup looks. The Timeless Spring shoot was right up my street. So, I jumped at the chance to be involved and collaborate with such creative individuals.

Keyleigh created a beautiful mood board to work from. From this, I created a classic, timeless, elegant makeup look. I prepped Jade's skin, with Tropic Skin feast Moisturiser. It’s so important to have cleansed moisturised skin, to give a flawless look. I created a soft smoky eye using pale browns, golden shimmers and pink hues with winged liner. I used Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush foundation and added a slight contour with a pink blush. The finishing touches include a slight smoke under the eye, dazzle dust, dusky pink lips and corner lashes to add va va voom.”

The Dress

The bridal look was taken a step further with our model, Jade, wearing a beautifully embellished plunge dress from award-winning Somerset boutique, Rookery Bridal. They offer an extensive range of bridal gowns, bridesmaids, flower girl dresses and accessories. Also, they work with some of the best designers and their boutique is full of stunning gowns in all styles and sizes to suit most budgets.  They pride themselves on their customer service, aiming to provide a special experience of finding that dream gown.

Here’s what Sarah of Rookery Bridal had to say about the look:

“We worked with Keyleigh and the stunning models, Jade and Michael, to ensure that they understood how to show off our Justin Alexander gown. With the amazing photographer, Hannah, to capture the best shots. The pictures make it look easy but trust me it is hard work! That day may have been sunny, but it was rather chilly. Still, don’t they make a lovely couple!”

The bride, Jade’s, look tied perfectly with our groom Michael’s classic tweed suit from Suave Owl.

The Jewellery

The extremely knowledgeable Holly Robinson accessorised our Bride Jade & Groom Michael with a selection of elegant diamonds and classic jewellery. Holly said:

“Selecting your bridal jewellery is a very personal choice. So in preparation for a bridal styled shoot, it is key to understand how the models look. You also have to know how the final bridal gown will sit and be styled.

Bridal look with jewellery

For our Timeless Spring Shoot at Eastington Park, our bride was dressed in a low front and back cut dress. This gave me the opportunity to up the sparkle factor with her diamond jewellery. We chose a classic 18ct white gold tennis bracelet, partnered with larger pear and round brilliant shaped diamond dropper earrings.

For her bridal jewellery, I teamed my Platinum ‘Athena Round Brilliant Cut Engagement Ring’ with a made to match slightly shaped Platinum diamond set wedding band. On our models’ right hand, I designed a chunky claw set band incorporating round brilliant diamonds again to compliment her bridal set.

For our groom, I went very traditional! A 3.5mm wide Traditional court shaped 18ct Yellow Gold wedding ring. I have seen a huge surge in popularity for Yellow Gold in the last years. These touches of warmth to the bride and groom’s jewellery also incorporated the shoot's ‘Timeless Spring’ vibe.”

The Venue

From a beautiful tree-lined driveway and stunning Georgian Manor House, to a grand staircase and Bridal Suite that is every photographer's dream; Eastington Park is the perfect place for a photoshoot.  Come rain or shine, there are always so many photo opportunities both inside and outside. Although, with such a beautiful wedding pergola on the grounds, one secretly wishes for the sun of course!

The Decor

The elegant Eastington Park was enhanced by Natalie of Blossom Co Floral who said:

“The colour palette for the shoot was perfect for creating a classic, chic look using a selection of beautiful flowers and foliage in soft lilac, blue, pink and white. Spring is a wonderful time for flowers. So, I chose delicately scented lilac nestled amongst anemones, ranunculus, roses, hellebores and hydrangea with a little eucalyptus adding an element of texture. The bouquet was also finished with trailing ribbons to give an element of movement and softness, complimenting the flow of the dress.

As Jade descended the staircase ready for the ceremony, it was dressed with a mixed foliage garland, dotted with roses, hydrangea and ranunculus. This coordinated perfectly with the wedding cake and added an element of luxury to the descent from the bridal suite.

For the Wedding Breakfast, instead of a single arrangement, the top table featured three arrangements. These were placed on top of tall glass vases which allows conversation to flow freely when guests are seated.”

The tables were dressed with elegant embroidered linens from Extra Special Touch which were used to envelop the chic menus.

The table was also dressed with table numbers and place cards by me, Janine of London Paper Crafts.  My vision was to create classic stationery but with a modern twist to reflect the era when the shoot took place. One which would stand the test of time. Printed on beautifully textured hammered effect stock, mounted on gentle cornflour blue with corresponding elegant blue text, it blended seamlessly with the theme.

The Cake

The Timeless Spring theme was perfectly encapsulated in the classic tiered cake by Claire of Cake Daydreams. Claire adores sugar flowers and wanted to create a cake which suited the venue and her love of sugar work.

She created a three-tier cake with a nod to the Pantone shade of 2020, classic blue. She utilised her sugar flower skills to create clusters of pink roses, garden roses and hydrangea.  The flowers matched with the flowers on the grand staircase at Eastington Park.

Hand-painted monogram and floral details finished the cake to create a modern yet classic looking design.

Each member of the team at the shoot perfectly captured the Timeless Spring theme. Teamwork was definitely at play here to create a seamless classic look, which we hope will inspire many couples who wish to create an elegant, timeless wedding day.
