After a fun-filled weekend at The Wedding Fair on 17th and 18th September at ExCel London giving out our brand new bridal magazine, The Best of the Blog, we thought we'd share our highlights from the weekend. Filled with brides, prosecco and all things wedding, it was the perfect weekend for getting inspired and chatting to suppliers.
We spent the weekend handing out our exciting new bridal publication, The Best of the Blog. Filled with helpful tips and wedding planning advice, not to mention our Ultimate Wedding Checklist - it is the perfect helping hand for all your wedding planning tips. We'll be handing copies out at all of the national shows - so don't miss yours!
With such a huge variety of wedding dress suppliers at the fair, many brides saw it as an opportunity to try on gowns and get a feel for the kind of style they would like to wear on their wedding day. We saw a lot of backless designs and some gorgeous two piece dresses, perfect for the alternative bride.
It was also a great opportunity to have a look at flower trends for the coming year, with some stunning floral displays. We noticed a growing number of flower walls (perfect for gorgeous photographs) and a real woodland influence, with lots of greenery and wildflowers.
Guides for Brides were lucky enough to be placed right next to delicious Pret-A-Cake, whose beautiful marble cake was attracting a lot of attention from brides-to-be. After speaking to cake suppliers, it seems that the naked cake is still top of brides' wish lists, although we reckon that marble and metallic cakes will be giving the naked cake a run for its money in 2017.
Throughout the day, Benefit Cosmetics were giving makeup masterclasses for brides-to-be wishing to do their own makeup on their big day.
The Catwalk Show was the perfect opportunity to see which styles of dresses would be popular for 2017, with lots of figure hugging and backless gowns. We chatted to some suppliers who have seen a big increase in more relaxed styles, with brides choosing a more comfortable dress so that they can really let their hair down during the evening celebrations.
