Located on the Cowdray Estate, The Walled Garden is an enchanting, romantic setting full of heritage, and charm. The medieval garden sits alongside the magnificent Cowdray Ruins in the heart of the South Downs National Park. Cowdray Ruins was one of the most important Tudor Houses of its time, visited by royalty. Now, it provides a stunning backdrop for your wedding photos, whatever the season.

The Walled Garden

The intimate and private location offers two beautiful reception rooms with wonderful outside formal private garden space. The Walled Garden is licensed for ceremonies in the garden, underneath the Pavilion, which sits in front of a lawned area. The Castle Room and Courtyard Room are magnificent rooms and offer flexibility on the layout for entertaining guests, with the castle room overlooking the Ruins.Ā

The CateringĀ 

The Walled Garden knows that catering is one of the most important aspects of any wedding. So, they are proud to work with renowned caterer Caper & Berry on an exclusive basis. Creating the most delicious food, each menu is made bespoke for you, tailoring every element of your day to suit your taste. So, from anything from an intimate dinner for ten to lavish celebrations for over 100 people, the team at Caper & Berry will serve every perfect dish with a sense of style and occasion.

Accommodation and FacilitiesĀ 

Cowdray Estate has a wide range of accommodation close to the Walled Garden. There are four self-catering Holiday Cottages at Benbow Pond sleeping up to 13 while the Lodge next to the Golf Club sleeps up to 16. A short distance from the Walled Garden is Cowdray House, perfect for those looking for more opulent accommodation. It offers 22 luxury bedrooms and can be booked on an exclusive basis.

Cowdrayā€™s 16,500-acre Estate also has something to offer everyone. The Walled Garden is located next to Cowdray Park Polo Clubā€™s River Ground and close to Lawns where polo is played in summer. An 18-hole golf course, clay pigeon shooting, fly fishing, and wildlife tours further add to the mix of sporting and outdoor pursuits. In all, the Cowdray Estate offers a full wedding experience beyond the ceremony itself.Ā
