Many hearts were broken on social media over the weekend as the news of Benedict Cumberbatch's marriage to Sophie Hunter spread across the internet. The low key ceremony was held on the Isle of Wight on Valentines Day, with the reception at Mottistone Manor. The Manor is owned by the National Trust and is not generally available to book for weddings however, the Isle of Wight offers some other stunning wedding venues:

The Royal Hotel, Ventnor - The regal Royal Hotel is a historical gem which provides the perfect location for wedding venues Isle of Wight.  Built in 1832, the hotel successfully balances traditional character with modern elegance. The grand dining room oozes history and charm - a recurrent theme throughout the hotel.

Albert Cottage Hotel, East Cowes - Situated in the grounds of Osborne House, Albert Cottage is a Grade II listed building, offering historical charm in the form of a refurbished boutique hotel.  The cottage is set in two acres of stunning gardens, providing plenty of fantastic photo opportunities.

Lakeside Park Hotel, Wootten Bridge - Lakeside offers an abundance of facilities, including one of the top spas on the Isle of Wight.  The spa has an indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and sauna - perfect for pre-wedding relaxation. Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the hotel looks onto a 20 acre lake which is home to an array of fantastic wildlife.

Landguard Manor, Shanklin - A stunning 18th century Manor house, situated in acres of beautiful gardens. Landguard Manor has a license to perform civil ceremonies, allowing you to have your entire wedding day at the house.

Ventnor Botanic Gardens - If you love the idea of getting married among exotic plants in stunning walled gardens, then the Botanic Gardens is a winner.  With a license for civil ceremonies, the Canna Room or the Echium Terrace can be used for the wedding ceremony.

Wight wedding style - Speaking to Scotts, a leading hair and beauty business on the Isle of Wight, it was revealed that the island's popular vintage theme has been increasingly replaced with the boho look. Vintage wedding hair is now considered "last year," with boho beach waves, natural plaits and soft low buns increasing in popularity.
