If you're planning a Halloween wedding theme, or you just love all things spooky, then book a haunted wedding venue! Britain's many historical buildings often double up as amazing haunted wedding venues! Here are some of our favourites from around the country...

Coombe Abbey Hotel, Coventry

As the name suggests, the stunning Coombe Abbey was originally a monastery dating back to the 12th century. It was given to Henry VII when the monasteries were dissolved, and the young Elizabeth I even lived here! With the royal history comes the spooky stories, including the ghosts of monks wandering the hallways, and a resident gypsy girl named Matilda who (according to legend) put a curse on the Craven family in the 19th century. One thing is for sure - this is a Warwickshire wedding venue with real character and history.

Loseley Park, Guildford

This glamorous manor house dates back to the 16th century and is packed with stunning original features and intriguing history. The More-Molyneux family has lived here for over 500 years, and have kept it in such good condition that it feels like you're walking through history. For spook-lovers, Loseley Park is home to a ghostly woman dressed in brown, who apparently makes regular trips over to the nearby Baynards Park to visit their headless horseman!

Warwick Castle, Warwick

It's no surprise that one of the most famous castles in British history has its own ghosts! The most famous of these is Sir Fulke Greville in the tower, who was allegedly murdered by his manservant. If you marry around Halloween then you can take advantage of some of the castle's spookiest displays and events, including seances and shows. It is a great wedding venue year round, but we particularly love it in the autumn when the evenings are warm but it gets dark early...

Warwick Castle

Alnwick Castle, Northumberland

This stunning medieval castle is no stranger to the supernatural. As well as rumours of ghosts, spirits and even vampires, Alnwick Castle was also the filming location for Hogwarts in Harry Potter! There are three amazing wedding locations to choose from, including a dramatic ruined abbey. This means you'll have plenty of choice when it comes to throwing your spooky wedding celebration.

Ettington Park Hotel, Stratford Upon Avon

This Victorian mansion hotel looks just the part for a haunted wedding venue, thanks to its amazing neo-Gothic architecture. In fact, it looks so good that it was the filming location for the 1963 film The Haunting! Ettington Park once held the title of the most haunted hotel in Britain. Spectres spotted here include a servant girl named Mary, Lady Emma, and a man who walks his dog through the library.
