It’s National Tartan Day on the 6th April, so when’s a better time to channel all things tartan. Whether you're Scottish and want traditional tartan to feature heavily on your big day, or are going for something a little more subtle, look no further for inspiration!
Clothing
Tartan can either be extravagant or subtle when it comes to wedding attire. Obviously, a kilt is the clear winner, but there are also subtle accessories men can add like a tie or pocket square.
If you want to complement your groom's kilt, why not use the same tartan as a waistband on your dress, or use tartan to tie your wedding bouquet.
Decoration
We LOVE tartan bunting - perfect for a barn wedding venue. You could also incorporate tartan bows into your table settings and wedding favours.
Cakes
You can’t have a tartan wedding without incorporating the theme into your wedding cake. Adding ribbon around the tiers is a great way to tie everything together, but we also love this fun bunting cake topper!
Flowers
The big winner here is buttonholes - these look beautiful wrapped in tartan with some flowers and greenery that compliment the colours in the fabric.
Additionally, use tartan bows to secure flowers to the end of pews or around the venue - simple but stunning. We love bride Louise's beautiful flowers!
