We know how difficult it is to choose which month to have your wedding, so for all those couples deciding which time of year to tie the knot, check out our inspiration to help spark some ideas for planning the perfect summer wedding.Â
Outdoor WeddingÂ
During the summer, outdoor weddings are spectacular and can be set-up to fit in numerous guests, whether that's just for your wedding ceremony or for the wedding reception as well. Set up a marquee or tipi in the grounds so you can enjoy that warm summer breeze, or choose a picturesque countryside venue or barn wedding venue where you can have access to the grounds as well. You can even make your special day particularly memorable by adding fun extras throughout that are practical and look amazing for your friends and family - perhaps fans or pots of sun cream on the tables for wedding favours, ice lolly canapes for a refreshing afternoon treat, or some fun garden games to keep everyone entertained outside.
FlowersÂ
If you love wedding flowers, summer weddings are perfect for brightly coloured displays and fresh setups - the ideal opportunity to tie in your colour scheme. Â Why not opt for a selection of succulents instead as a stylish look that stays fresher for longer - great if it's looking like a hot summer is on its way.
Drinks
Having cool drinks is essential for a summer wedding because hydrated guests are happy guests. It is a perfect way of staying cool on a hot day and a refreshing beverage to hand always helps the day run more smoothly. Pimm's of course is often the drink of choice, but an ice bucket filled with beers and soft drinks is also popular as a grab and go option. Even regularly topped up fruit-flavoured water on the tables will keep everyone happy.
Food
Hot food is certainly traditional for the main feast, but how about trying something new and creative that reflects the season. Light fish dishes work really well and colourful salads are an ideal summer filler. Saving the hot food until the evening is great choice, particularly if you decide to go for a summer BBQ or hog roast to keep those guests going into the night. Ice-lollies are also a winner on a warm summer’s day, so instead of hot canapés why not opt for this refreshing choice instead? Maybe even for a late-night snack during the dancing!
