Getting married in a Stately Home would provide the perfect mixture of history, culture and photographic opportunities for your wedding. Here are six Stately Homes you might consider for your perfect day: 1. Kirtlington Park, Oxfordshire

Set just a stone's throw away from Woodstock in Oxfordshire is Kirtlington Park. Kirtlington is a gorgeous stately home wedding venue set in acres of idyllic parkland designed by Capability Brown. The stunning facades of this Palladian country house are sure to wow your wedding guests and the interiors are just as magnificent. Fantastic photo opportunities are all around with the grand house becoming the perfect backdrop for your wedding photos.

2. Stoke Place - Buckinghamshire

Rolling in 26 acres of beautiful gardens, and located just outside of London with close links to Slough, Windsor and Heathrow Airport is Stoke Place - a wonderful private house. Suitable for parties from 60 - 200 people, with three civil ceremony licensed rooms and a main Ballroom. Panoramic views of the lake from the gardens, accessible through beautiful French doors from the Ballroom. Equipped with 39 bedrooms, reception rooms and the picturesque gardens and wildlife that roams around the grounds; easily captured by camera.

3. The Manor at Weston on the Green - Oxfordshire

With beautifully landscaped gardens and lawns and a rich 900 year history, the Manor provides a wonderful setting for your wedding day and would supply you with fantastic photos. Located just outside of Oxford, only a few minutes from both Blenheim Palace and Bicester Village. The Manor is able to cater for both small to large weddings with a range of rooms - the Baron’s Hall seating 80, and The Morning Room and The Tudor Room a modest 20. For more elaborate parties the Osborn Suite can provide for a total 56, or for those wanting larger gatherings a marquee is available and outdoor weddings can take place in the Private Knot Garden (up to 120 people).

4. Manor By The Lake - Gloucestershire

Set in the outskirts of Cheltenham in seven acres of beautiful gardens lies the charming Manor By The Lake. Able to accommodate parties from 60 - 200 people with Maximillian room seating 60 and the West Wing 200 for dining - 8 rooms in total for you to choose from; you can use a different one for each part of your wedding day. Fantastic atmosphere; the scenery, gardens and the lake making an excellent backdrop for photos.

5.The Elvetham - Hampshire

Based in Hampshire is The Elvetham. This 19th century Victorian building offers several private rooms for your wedding day - The Oak Room, The Library, The Conservatory and The Morning Room. All rooms are beautifully furnished and encompassed by the fantastic surroundings of the estates gardens. The Elvetham is able to provide for smaller parties of 60 to larger parties of up to 200 guests. A marquee is also available for larger celebrations of up to 250 guests. The Elvetham retains its wonderful history in many of the features - for example the stain glass windows that welcome natural light and the wonderful views of the grounds; ideal for your wedding photos.

6. Addington Palace - Surrey

With 163 acres of stunning grounds and a location nicely tucked just outside of the centre of London in the Surrey/Kent borders lies Addington Palace. Addington Palace provides two venues - The Palace which accommodates 120 people within The Great Hall as well as an additional 60 guests should you need to use other rooms. The Royal Marquee seats parties of 150 to a impressive 750 guests. A wealth of green land and beautiful architecture to feature wonderfully in your wedding album.
