Pink and Purple toned wedding florals, Oriental Fans, Ruffles and Lace. These elements create a stunning wedding design. We adore this gorgeous contemporary wedding shoot at No 1 Abbey Row in Malmesbury.
A handpicked selection of wedding suppliers came together to decorate No 1 Abbey Row, a beautiful venue on the Cotswold and Wiltshire border. This small but mighty team pulled together the creative ideas of Emily Hepworth, a florist at Persephone Violet. An elegant mixed pink palette with some purple elements pulled all the styling and floral design together. Also, some unusual elements, for example, the bridal fan, certainly made this styled shoot unique.
Bridal Looks
The day started with bridal preparation. Holly from Holly Andersen Hair and Make up brought along friend Kerry to model the three Lilian West dresses (provided by Becky at Event Style). Firstly, there was a beautiful lace dress with long sleeves and a V-neckline. An over the top floral circlet and a big, flowing boho-inspired bridal bouquet complemented this look. Holly then created a loose romantic curl for the flower crown to adorn and stunning natural styled makeup for this look. Secondly, there was an elegant and understated plain dress. A low bun and boho style bridal bouquet finished this look. Finally, there was a V neck dress full of detail with wide straps, a low bun with a floral comb paired with the boho bridal bouquet. A relaxed and beautiful look.
Venue Decoration
Whilst Holly was busy working with Kerry in the bridal suite, Sally-Anne from Photography by Sally-Anne was capturing lots of preparation shots. In the Garden Room, all the other suppliers were busy creating two possible table looks, a stunning cake and ceremony backdrops.
Ceremony Space
No 1 Abbey Row is a wonderfully neutral venue that can carry off any look. Interesting botanical materials in bottles were placed on the window sills. The pegboards were also dressed with large over the top leaves – Monstera, Fatsia and Philodendron.
A triangular archway was adorned with stunning florals and large tropical leaves. A gorgeous ceremony backdrop and the perfect photo opportunity. Lanterns, candles and a Moroccan style rug were used to finish styling the archway. The Arch and styling props were provided by Becky at Event Style and florals by Emily at Persephone Violet. The arch could become a photo booth at the reception. So, this is a good way to recycle ceremony specific floral designs to make the most of them throughout the day.
Table Decoration
Two round tables were decorated with linen and props from Richardson Event Hire and No 1 Abbey Row. One table was decorated with an eco-friendly low table centre made entirely from wooden spoons. The bamboo wooden spoons had flowers fed through them to create the floral centrepiece. Beautiful ribbed glasses from Richardson Event Hire gave the perfect textural addition. The coloured candles placed into No 1 Abbey Row’s beautiful brass candle holders finished the tablescape perfectly. Wild raspberry and Purple Iris napkins sat on lovely charger plates. This gives a real air of luxury to the table.
On the other table, a tall floral design sat upon a riser stand (provided by Event Style) with turquoise napkins and flowing chair backs. A gold runner added a bit of glitz to the table. Also, the gorgeous cross back chairs looked really in keeping.
The Cake
Kim at Kimmi's Cake made an expertly iced four-tier wedding cake. She then teamed up with Emily to decorate it. This is where collaboration works so well between wedding suppliers. Each person brings a different idea, skill and style to the table. A spacer was used at the bottom as well as between tier two and three to design with the flowers. So, a simple decoration idea can be very impressive, as seen here.
