Their own big day was one of five weddings Andy and Kate ‘attended’ last summer, and they knew they wanted to make it very personal. Kate explains ‘I think it’s really important to imprint your own personality on the day. Every wedding is basically the same formula, and you have to find ways of making it truly individual!’

This wasn’t a problem for Andy and Kate. A relaxed and sociable pair, their wedding was the perfect fit – with guests being greeted in the pretty village church by a quartet of singers, then afterwards strolling down to the local pub, The Harp and Crown, for a Pimms reception.

The reception itself was held just five minutes away, in a vibrantly decorated marquee in Andy’s parents’ garden. The guests feasted on hog roasts for both the wedding breakfast and the evening supper. ‘Both pigs were a present from a really good family friend who breeds pigs – they were very local and very delicious!’ explains Kate. Later, the kept the dancefloor full by playing tracks requested by the guests in advance - the perfect end to a day filled with sunshine and laughter.
