The 13th of August is National Prosecco Day and there's never been a better reason to pop open a bottle of bubbly. To mark the occasion, we've found some mouth-watering cocktail recipes that all contain that one special ingredient: Prosecco!

Along with some recommendations for some fab bar and drinks companies and some ideas for those less excited about alcohol, but still keen on getting involved; here we will give you everything your bubbly heart desires. We have searched the web and found our favourite tried and tested prosecco cocktail recipes. 

Prosecco Royale

This recipe for a Prosecco Royale is from The Sweetest Occasion.

Ingredients

  • 25ml creme de cassis
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Prosecco
  • Blueberry and thyme garnish

Technique

Mix the creme de cassis and lemon juice into the glass. Top up with prosecco. Skewer a couple of blueberries and a sprig of thyme to garnish the cocktail. 

This rich and fruity cocktail is perfect for a winter wedding and is guaranteed to get all your guests' taste buds tingling! 

Blushing Bellini

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp peach purée
  • Prosecco
  • Peach and mint garnish

Technique

Add the peach purée into a champagne flute and top with prosecco. Garnish with a slice of peach and fresh mint. 

This twist on a classic cocktail will wow your guests and leave them wanting more! With a small ingredient list, this cocktail will be able to please the masses within seconds.

Ingredients

  • 25ml elderflower liqueur 
  • 50ml gin
  • Prosecco
  • Cucumber ribbons to garnish

Technique

Pour the elderflower liqueur and gin into a glass over some ice. Top up with prosecco. Garnish with thinly sliced cucumber to add freshness. 

This cocktail is perfect for a summer wedding, as it's so refreshing and will be a guaranteed crowd-pleaser. 

Bakewell Fizz

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp kirsch
  • 25ml amaretto discorano
  • Prosecco
  • Cherries to garnish

Technique

Place some kirsch-soaked cherries at the bottom of a champagne flute. Add the kirsch. Top with amaretto and fill up with prosecco.

Aperol Spritz

Ingredients

  • 50ml Aperol
  • 75ml prosecco
  • Soda water
  • A slice of orange to garnish

Technique

Fill a large glass with ice. Pour the Aperol over the ice and add the prosecco and soda water. Garnish with a slice of orange. 

For those looking for a classic, you have come to the right place. This popular crowd-pleaser will go down a treat and run the bar staff off their feet!

Passionfruit Martini

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe passion fruit
  • 30ml vanilla vodka
  • 15ml passoa
  • ½ tbsp lime juice
  • ½ tbsp sugar syrup
  • Prosecco (to serve)
  • A slice of passionfruit to garnish

Technique

Scoop the passion fruit into a cocktail shaker and add the vodka, passoa, sugar syrup, and lime juice. Add a handful of ice and shake until mixed well. Strain over a martini glass and garnish with half a passion fruit. Serve with a shot of prosecco. 

For a fruit kick, this passionfruit cocktail will provide just that. As everyone is guaranteed to love this cocktail, the only debate will be whether you pour the prosecco into the glass or you shot it! 

Cornish Spritz

If you are looking for a low-alcohol recipe that still has some bubbles, this recipe for a Cornish Spritz from Wildlife Botanicals may just be your ideal cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 50ml rose vermouth
  • 2 dashes of orange bitters
  • 20ml soda water
  • Wildlife Botanicals nude bubbles
  • A slice of orange to garnish

Technique

Fill a large glass with ice. Add the rose vermouth over the ice, along with the orange bitters. Top with soda water and Wildlife botanicals nude bubbles. Finally, garnish with a slice of orange. 

For those requiring a more tame and subtle cocktail, the Cornish Spritz is perfect. Ultra-low in alcohol, yet uber-high in plant power, this cocktail will be a sparkling treat for your guests.

Top Tip: If none take your fancy and you feel like getting creative with prosecco, make your own and call it something meaningful to you and your partner for your special day!
