This year, our Mother's Day activity focuses on the good stuff: Cosy conversations over a mug of tea. It goes without saying that everyone can enjoy a quintessentially English cream tea. What's more elegant than afternoon tea in the capital? Whilst London exudes a certain glamour, you can get the best of both worlds by taking this Sunday to show your mum some love - whether it be at a fancy hotel, or, at your own kitchen table. Afternoon tea makes the perfect Mother's Day Treat and, it also offers the chance to get excited over all those wedding details you might be planning together! Any excuse, right? 😍

Finger Sandwiches

What's more genteel than teensy cucumber sandwiches with the crusts cut off? Not only are these adorable, they're also ridiculously moreish! We could literally make these in their hundreds! (Don't get us started on the different types of bread... yum!)

Show Stopper

Behold: The Croquembouche. Once you've got your head around the fancy, fancy name you can see why one of these beauties would make a gorgeous centrepiece for your Mother's Day table!

Speciali-teas

Japanese flowering teas, oolong, fruits of the forest... The list goes on and on and on! What's the backbone of English society? Tea! This is why we think it'd be fantastic to have a tea tasting party - with all the exotics. Sip away and put the world to rights!

Something Sweet

Do you know what we don't talk about often enough? Meringues. I mean, they're EVERYWHERE come Wimbledon season, but, why on earth stop there?! They can be colourful, pastel, flavoured, gorgeous! Plus, they're lighter than air, super sweet and delicious served with mountains of whipped cream. Yes please!

Something Savoury

Think ploughman's lunch, only dainty. If your mum's taste for savoury wins out over her sweet tooth, lay on a tasty spread with all of the picnic classics! Mini quiches, pork pies, cream cheese with salmon... Enjoy a mini feast for two!

Sparkling Conversation

Looking to treat you mum to the ultimate in luxury this Mother's Day? Get the bubbles going with the boozy tea, complete with lashings of champagne (or prosecco!), chocolate dipped strawberries and speciality cocktails - all of our personal favourites!

The High Fashion One

Go all SATC, Carrie Bradshaw and the girls style, with decadent desserts that have a bit of an edge in the design stakes! Bright colours, fun shapes, deconstructed... There's a lot of scopes here to go all out on Mother's Day! This is the perfect excuse to go entirely inventive, fresh and fun with what you serve!
