A personal venue, and a host of personal touches made Kate and Dan’s wedding a memory to cherish!
Wycliffe College Chapel was the natural place for Kate and Dan to tie the knot, as Kate had grown up with her dad as a boarding house master at the college when she was small. Having invited the original chaplain back to marry them, and obtained the required special licence from the Archbishop of Canterbury, the wedding took place at the end of July, followed by a fun packed reception at The Barn at Berkeley.
In memory of Dan’s late father, the couple chose a Mark II Jaguar, a particular favourite of his, for their wedding day transport, which perfectly complemented Kate’s romantic layered silk dress from British designer Lyn Ashworth, whilst the bridesmaids wore a selection of different, complementary dresses.
The delicious Bailey’s infused cake was the star of the catering show. Kate laughs ‘Each time the wedding comes up, the cake is mentioned!’ Guests were also treated to a pick and mix sweetie bar and a ploughman’s supper in the evening, with Kate’s dad’s homemade pear chutney on the side.
