Understanding the importance of good quality make up, we've been sampling some new products on the market. We were told that Jane Iredale's new City Nights Collection "delivers radiant Autumn make up, inspired by the glamour and energy of a night out on the town." But we know that ladies can be tempted into buying new make up products by the persuasive language of good marketing. So the question is - what did we actually think of the products?
The lip gloss came in a sparkly plum colour, scented of 'kir royale.' Sampling the product on a night out, the sticky gloss didn't fail to impress. Providing full bodied lips, with a rich colour and shine. The glosses come in a range of pigmented shades of plum - catering to everyone's taste. Made of a "soothing and hydrating formula, with a base of organic oils and protecting antioxidants, Vitamins C and E," the product is full of goodness. Retailed at £19.95, this gloss would make a great present or 'gift to self' on your wedding day.
For eyes, we sampled the "trio of matte pearl, shimmery port wine and toasted caramel shadows." Eyeshadows can often be overpowering, and can sometimes make the line of "glamour vs. drag queen" an easy one to cross. The trio of shadows was definitely a winner; the colours went on as they appeared on the palette and stayed on all evening. To get good coverage only a small amount was needed. Retailed at £35, this elegantly encased palette would be a gorgeous addition to your wedding day make up, providing subtle glamour.
The City Nights Collection also offers "gel eyeliners in flirtatious jewel tones" and "a nourishing lipstick" - although we didn't sample these directly, we can only assume that they would provide the same quality as the other products that we loved.
