With over 200 international labels exhibiting at The London Bridal Show, we were keen to go along, meet the suppliers and understand more about upcoming trends.
Our experience of The London Bridal Show, was just as new as it was for exhibitors and visitors. The re-branding of British Bridal Exhibition in Harrogate (BBEH) means that were two bridal shows to look forward to in 2014 – one in London (6-8 April) and another taking place in Harrogate (7-9 September). Why not make a day of it and check out some London wedding venues too.Â
We went along last Tuesday to the London Bridal Show at the Olympia in Kensington, West London on the last day of the exhibition.
Our first immediate thought upon arriving– vintage is back. Popular in the 1920s and brought to life by The Great Gatsby – the low cut necklines, fabric beautifully embossed, embellished or embroidered with sequins and feathers really took centre stage at The London Bridal Show.
Some fantastic examples of the vintage look from London Bridal Show exhibitors:
There was also a clear focus on dresses becoming softer and lighter but still retaining a flowing and feminine shape.
Colours we were told to look out for in bridal fashion? The classic white and ivory remain of course, but champagne, blush as well as pale greens and blues are going to be emerging characters.
