Having a city wedding doesn't mean that you can't enjoy some outdoor space! In fact, plenty of wedding venues in London have gorgeous gardens and green spaces that are ideal for an outdoor wedding ceremony. We've chosen some of our favourite London wedding venues that are perfect for outdoor ceremonies and wedding receptions...

De Vere Selsdon Estate

One of the grandest wedding venues in Surrey, the De Vere Selsdon Estate is set within 200 acres of countryside, and is the only venue in the surrounding area to be licensed for outdoor wedding ceremonies. Looking at their pretty outdoor pagoda in the hotel's secret garden, why wouldn't you want to get married in this gorgeous setting? After the ceremony, you can hold your drinks reception on their outdoor terrace, which links directly into the Terrace Suite with its sculpted ceilings and original windows. The De Vere Selsdon Estate can cater for weddings of up to 150 guests, and can offer your guests a range of elegant rooms to stay in. As the newlywed couple, you'll get to spend the night in their incredible Honeymoon Suite as part of your booking!

Ravens Ait

This unique island wedding venue is located in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey, overlooking the River Thames. There are two licensed civil ceremony rooms at Ravens Ait; the Thames suite, which seats up to 120 guests, and the Britannia Suite, which seats up to 250 guests. Both spaces are filled with natural light, making them ideal for weddings all year round, and beautiful views of the River Thames and Home Park.

Once you've tied the knot, you can take advantage of the gorgeous landscaped front lawns of the island by holding your reception in the stunning Ravens Ait wedding marquee. It comes with a romantic fairy light canopy and stunning views of the sun setting over the River Thames and Hampton Court grounds, which makes for an incredible evening reception atmosphere.

Gilwell Park

Gilwell Park is a truly unique wedding venue set in the North East London borough of Waltham Forest, with a range of indoor and outdoor wedding spaces. The licensed wedding ceremony spaces include the historic Georgian house with its elegant white facade to the rustic outdoor Gidney Cabin. The parkland spans a whopping 108 acres, making it the ideal location for outdoor photographs, and the venue can cater for anything between 40 and 180 seated guests.

Fulham Palace

A stunning wedding venue set within 13 acres of botanical gardens and rolling lawns in West London, Fulham Park has a choice of seven rooms and two private outside spaces for your wedding day.

The private gardens include elegant lawns, knot gardens, an ancient evergreen oak, a glasshouse and a vinery, and the flower beds are filled with year-round colour that make them fantastic backdrops to your wedding photographs. Enjoy the gardens as part of your summer wedding outdoor drink receptions for between 30 and 300 guests.

For the wedding breakfast, The Chaplain’s Walled Garden Marquee is a purpose-built pavilion nestled beside the picturesque Tait Chapel and the river Thames. This tranquil location is available from March until the end of December thanks to the heating and cooling systems, and can seat up to 180 guests.

Ranger's House is a stunning 18th century manor house on the edge of Greenwich Park, with a Walled Garden that has plenty of space for a wedding marquee. The garden is the perfect oasis for celebratory drinks and canapés on the lush lawns or for an evening of alfresco dining and dancing inside a beautiful marquee, and the rose garden makes for stunning backdrop to your wedding photos.

Morden Hall

Set within 125 acres of beautiful National Trust parkland, Morden Hall is a South London wedding venue that feels a world away from the busy city - while still only being an hour away from central London. After tying the knot in one of two ceremony rooms, you and your guests can spill out onto the North Lawn to enjoy your drinks or even a few afternoon garden games. This private lawn also offers wonderful wedding photography opportunities with its picturesque footbridge leading over the river.

Grim's Dyke Hotel

Grim’s Dyke is a beautiful and unique 19th Century country house hotel in Harrow, North West London. Surrounded by an oasis of tranquil landscaped gardens and romantic scenery, this is the perfect hotel wedding venue if you're looking for manor house style combined with accommodation. Grim's Dyke has several stunning ceremony rooms and banqueting suites to choose from, and hope to have their rose garden licensed for outdoor civil ceremonies soon - so if you're marrying in 2019 and beyond, watch this space!
