There's no doubt that Vietnam is one of the hottest honeymoon destinations for 2019 and we've picked some of our very favourite luxury 5* resorts for honeymoons. Check out our review of the incredible Amanoi in South East Vietnam...

Set on a coastal ridge within a National Park with a rugged forested landscape, Amanoi offers unrivalled luxury and service in a totally unspoilt natural setting. The dramatic coastline, sandy beach and lotus lake give couples a superb choice of locations to enjoy their honeymoon.

The best time of year to visit

As it is surrounded by mountains, the resort enjoys its own micro-climate. Rain is very unusual here, even when it is forecast for the local area. Cool sea breezes keep the air temperature comfortable year round. The only month to avoid for honeymoons are November to January, when stronger winds and rain can make event planning a challenge.

Accommodation

The rooms are all identical in size, layout and design and are positioned throughout the 42 hectares to give each one complete privacy. Each room has stunning views across pristine forest, either of the sea, the lotus lake or the mountains.

Pavilion rooms have a large deck for relaxing outside and Villas have a deck and private infinity pool. For couples, you can't go wrong with any of the Pavilions or Villas, but our top pick for the views has to be the Ocean Pool Villas. Each comes with a private pool overlooking the Vinh Hy Bay and the East Sea, making them the perfect romantic honeymoon pick.

For groups or families travelling together, we recommend the resort’s 2 to 5 bedroom Residences. Each has their own private Pavilion rooms for each couple or family – two under 12s stay free in each room – in addition to a private pool and communal area. The communal area includes an alfresco dining and entertainment area, a huge granite infinity pool with sun loungers and seating areas and a comfortable living and dining room with comfortable sofas, well-stocked book shelves, a huge TV and in-room dining.

Food and drinks

As you’d expect in a 5* resort of this calibre, the dining experience is second to none. You can expect fresh, high quality Vietnamese cuisine with a really creative twist, as well as western favourites. The quality doesn’t waver between the main Pavilion restaurant, the Beach Club and the in-room dining. Fish and seafood is varied and plentiful. Many of the herbs and vegetables are grown in the resort’s gardens.

The wine and champagne cellar is extensive, with such great flavours such as lemongrass, ginger and passionfruit readily available in Vietnam for cocktails.

Activities

There is plenty to keep you busy after the wedding. Activities include hiking in the mountains behind the resort and snorkelling and water sports at the beach. For those wanting to relax, Amanoi has a world class spa with daily classes and a huge range of treatments.

Double rooms start at £735.20, which includes return car transfer between Cam Ranh airport (CXR) and Amanoi, daily breakfast and afternoon tea, and complimentary wellness classes and water sports.
