Few wedding venues can really call themselves 'unique', 'different' and 'exceptionally special' but HMS Warrior 1860 is proud to say that she is all three and more. The following information and photos have kindly been supplied by HMS Warrior 1860.

As one of the most sought after locations on the South Coast, situated within Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard, you can be sure that your special day on board is one to truly remember for you and your guests. HMS Warrior offers a magnificent venue for your wedding ceremony, evening reception or both. You will receive the service and trappings of a 21st Century wedding amid an abundance of history and Victorian fittings.

Designed and launched in 1861 to counter the threat posed by the French Navy, the ship was the fastest of her day. Lovingly restored to her original condition after her rescue in 1979, by getting married on board, you are directly helping to preserve the ship for this and future generations. The ship today offers a beautiful historical venue for your wedding ceremony or reception and is certain to impress your guests and make for some stunning photographs. There are two locations licensed for wedding ceremonies; the Captains' Cabin (for up to 25 guests) and the Officers Half Deck (for up to 100 guests). Ceremonies can be held at 11am, 2pm and 5.15pm. The latter ceremony is followed by an evening reception.

There are four vast decks to explore and your guests will enjoy touring around the ship and taking in the views of the Solent and historic waterfront from the upper deck, with a complimentary glass of champagne from the Captain after the ceremony.

For your Wedding Breakfast, HMS Warrior can cater for small numbers (up to 20) in the Officers Wardroom; up to 60 people on the Officers Half Deck and up to 288 on the Gun Deck. Further evening guests can be invited to join you from around 8.30pm.

The Gun Deck is an exceptional setting for your evening reception; and dining on the original mess tables allows you to absorb the Victorian atmosphere where 600 sailors worked, ate and slept. The whole ship is exclusively yours for an evening reception and you are free to utilise other areas of the ship for any entertainment you wish to book.

Exclusive caterers provide an experienced and high quality service, offering a wide range of menu choices and options. All food is produced with fresh and locally sourced ingredients, and can be tailored to suit any requirements; from authentic period tastes to modern haute cuisine.
