There are many things that you can do to feel your best on your big day. Whether that's simply great hair and make-up or a bit of rest and relaxation a few weeks prior to the main event, you deserve to feel amazing on your wedding day.

Hair and make-up at home

Your usual hair stylist may be reluctant to leave their salon on a busy Saturday and you may prefer that your hair and make-up are done in the comfort and privacy of your home so that you don't have to walk down the High Street in all your bridal beauty. Choose a hairdresser and beautician who specialises in wedding beauty and offer home appointments. Arrange a “girl's day in” and have a trial run with your hairstyle, make-up and nails so that your make-up artist and hair stylist will know exactly how they can help you to look your very best on your wedding day.

A professional bridal beauty team will also be able to do your bridesmaids hairstyles as well as specialising in bridal hairstyles, so search around and find a professional who can do everything that you want.

Get Fit

If you don't want to rely on “magic knickers” to give you the perfect figure for the big day, why not embark on a fitness regime well in advance? If you struggle with the self-discipline needed to turn up three times a week to a gym class, or are intimidated by the more experienced clientele, you could invest in a some personal training sessions. No longer the preserve of the rich and famous, personal trainers are more affordable than you may think and most gyms will be able to put you in touch with one.

Why not unwind a couple of weeks before the wedding with some friends at a spa, or spend a romantic weekend away with your fiancé, catching up with each other without the pressure of the wedding plans?

You could make a spa trip part of your hen day, or simply a chance to relax and reflect. Some spa locations provide special Spa days for brides so if you look around you may be able to find a good deal.
