Green weddings are the new and upcoming fashion in wedding styles. Not only will you create a stylish and unique wedding but it will be memorable for your guests and hopefully make them think about being more eco-friendly. Eco-friendly weddings can take any form and you can go very extreme and make everything green or you can take a few of these ideas to give your wedding that green edge.

Your eco-wedding starts with the invites which could be made out of beautiful recycled paper, or even plant paper which contains wild flower seeds, which when ripped up and mixed with soil and water, encourage wild flowers to bloom. Your location can also play a large role in your green wedding. Firstly you need to find an eco-friendly location to carry out the legalities of the wedding, but after that, the rest of your wedding can be carried out anywhere. The most eco-friendly location is outside. There are no energy consumption for cooling or heating the location. In addition you can use natural light and candles rather than electricity to illuminate the special day. The decoration for your venue should be as eco-friendly as possible. If you only look for decorations which can be recycled, reused or composted you are on the right tracks. Why not go for the forest wedding? The trees provide natural decorations and a stunning backdrop for your photography. When choosing your wedding flowers, take care when selecting your florist, you want flowers which have been grown locally and organically. Even better would be using wild flowers; they look stunning and give your wedding that natural feel.

Without a doubt you will want a photographer at your wedding to capture those special moments. Ask them if it is possible to view the photographs as digital proofs, to reduce the use of paper and ink, and encourage guests not to use one use cameras. Your favours are a chance for you to go eco-friendly wedding wild. Why not give them a miniature garden grown in a small cardboard box, or organic chocolates! Your food is another opportunity to make your wedding green and organic. Ask your caterer to source as much of the food locally as possible, checking food miles and making sure that the suppliers are organic. Why not use recyclable crockery as well? You could have your plates made out of paper, wood or bamboo!

When it comes to clothing, having a green wedding can be tricky, the best thing you can do is either use second hand suits, or rent suits. For your wedding dress, vintage dresses look stunning, or if you are really eco-friendly you can have wedding dresses made out of special recycled fabric or even bamboo! Finally, your wedding rings can but the final sparkle on the top of your green wedding. Recycled metal wedding rings will remind you not only of your vows on your wedding day but the effort you made in making your green wedding as eco-friendly as possible!
