Finding the right evening entertainment can be a challenge; looking for a musician, band or DJ that not only reflects you as a couple, but will also provide your guests with a night to remember is by no means an easy task. However, everything is possible and there are so many amazing wedding businesses which specialise in evening wedding entertainment to help transform your wedding reception into the perfect party.

First things first - before you choose your evening wedding entertainment, you need to make sure that your venue looks fit for a party. From fairytale lighting to atmospheric decor, bring a little wow factor into your reception. Main Attraction can help you design a theme, as well as managing all aspects of the decoration using their own equipment. From disco’s and intelligent lighting to stages, photo booths and candy carts and complete venue decoration including draping, event theming, chair covers & table decorations - we love the idea of hiring a one-stop for your venue decor and entertainment.

Now for the music! If you're looking for a party with modern chart music as well as some old classic tunes - a DJ is a brilliant choice for your evening entertainment. Whilst you may think that hiring a DJ is easy (they just need some decks and good music) - think again! We caught up with My Local DJ who expressed that a great DJ is like no other DJ. Make sure that you hire a DJ who will wow people with their music choice and people skills and more importantly, someone who can create a unique atmosphere that will get all your guests up on their feet!

If you're looking for something a little bit different, then we love the idea of hiring a Ceilidh band. This is a brilliant way to make sure that everyone (and we mean everyone) gets up on their feet. We caught up with Derek from the Midsummer Music who is also a member of a Ceilidh Band himself. He explained the increasing popularity of Ceilidh and Barn Dance Bands (both are very similar) which can be enjoyed by all age groups. No experience is needed with the "Caller" choosing dances to fit the energy and teaching everyone the dance moves! No excuses with this one.

Another entertainment option which is bound to cause an entertainment stir is hiring a live band. Perfect for outside weddings in the summer, we think a band is a great option for a marquee or festival themed wedding. Before booking, make sure that you listen to a soundtrack so you can get to know what songs they play and what kind of vibe they will create at your wedding.

Whatever your evening entertainment, once you've decided - make sure that your guests can enjoy it as much as possible! If you're having young children at your reception, then what better way to keep them looked after than hiring a mobile creche? They can play, whilst their parents party the night away.
