Love is certainly in the air at this Olympic Games - with 4 proposals and one wedding invite, athletes are not only winning medals, but hearts, too. There has been a definite correlation between winning medals and being proposed to, and here at Guides for Brides we’re loving it.
1. Marjorie Enya and Isadora Cerullo
The first olympic proposal came in the first week of the games, when rugby sevens venue worker Marjorie Enya asked her girlfriend of two years, Brazil player Isadora Cerullo to marry her. Marjorie stated that she wanted to show that love wins, and she certainly did that.

2. He Zi and Qin Kai
He Zi was still reeling from her silver medal win in the diving springboard when she was overwhelmed once more - this time, after being asked to marry diver-boyfriend Qin Kai. She managed a nod and the arena went wild.

3. Tom Bosworth and Harry Dineley
British race walker Tom Bosworth proposed to boyfriend Harry Dineley on Copacabana Beach on Monday 15th August - what a way to make the olympic games even more unforgettable.

4. Charlotte Dujardin and Dean Golding
As Charlotte defended her title in the dressage arena, her boyfriend proudly watched wearing a customised t-shirt reading “can we get married now?” Charlotte later explained that they were already engaged, but that he was hinting at their long engagement - he’s clearly keen to walk her down the aisle sooner rather than later!

5. Wedding invite
That’s all on the proposals front, but we can’t forget the moment that Dan Walker’s live olympics broadcast was gatecrashed by bride-to-be Maria De Cezar on her hen party. She proceeded to invite him along to her wedding, and reiterated this on Twitter later on.
Guess what? Hen party Maria (De Cezar) has been in touch today... got an invite to the wedding! 😃👍🏻https://t.co/AzpZUllJcC
