If you have always dreamed of being a princess, you can turn this dream into reality by getting married in a magical castle, served fine food, seeped in culinary tradition at the breathtaking Castello Zamitello in Malta.
Castello Zammitello is a unique 17th century castle on the outskirts of Mgarr. With two wooden conservations, beautifully landscaped garden it is undoubtedly a venue with a difference.
Local legend claims that the Baron Bernado Zamitt arranged for his daughter Lucia to be married against her wishes to a wealthy old Sicilian Count. She disappeared on the day of the wedding and year later the village bell tolled and the ghost of Lucia appeared, explaining how she had run away to avoid being married to the Count. It is said that she became a nun and cared for the wounded in far off battles until she was killed by a stray arrow.
To this day she is regarded locally as a saint.
