Dressing a Mother of the Bride/Groom with Ian Stuart
“No matter what background you’ve come from, it doesn’t really matter as long as you want to feel fabulous for your special event.” Making sure the Mother of the Bride feels comfortable and confident on her daughters special day.
This is one of the many reasons why we love Ian Stuart – he has a true passion for helping his customers look and feel phenomenal, regardless of their age, figure, style or budget. Last week, we had the pleasure of interviewing Ian, after his hit Channel 4’s TV series ‘The Posh Frock Shop’ launched on 11th June.

Ian isn’t afraid of addressing challenges within the bridal industry; he listens to the problems his customers face when dressing for a big occasion and reacts in order to help them. His refreshing and modern approach to dressing women and challenging the norm is something we really admire.
Ian described a ‘classic Ian Stuart Mother of the bride’ as, simply, a lady who wants to look beautiful. Ian has over 40 stockists who sell his masterpieces but if you’re looking for the full experience, visit his flagship London store The Blewcoat, where you’ll receive the true VIP treatment with real one-on-one service, a glass of Champagne and Ian’s sincere opinion.
Double appointments are also something unique to Ian’s store. This is when the bride can come in and try on her wedding dress with her mother or future mother in law. The two can then go out for lunch, then return to the store so the mother of the bride or groom can find her perfect dress too. Not only does this mean you get to spend a special day together, but Ian has recognised that mothers and daughters often share the same sense of style, and if one likes a particular designer, they both will!
