Having a facial or body treatment is always a nice treat, but for those that like to feel they have really made a difference to their skin, Destination Skin take it a step further with a range of non-invasive treatments to address concerns such as sun damage, spider veins, rosacea, skin tags, acne, cellulite and unwanted hair.

You are encouraged to sign up to a course of treatment for the maximum effect, with home care products to use in between.

One of the salon's most popular treatment for both men and women is permanent hair removal or IPL.

The salon uses lasers and IPL - Intense Pulsed Light - to direct heat to the hair follicles. The treatment is uncomfortable rather than painful and 6-12 treatments are advised for the best effective.

Results vary and the salons don't guarantee that you will be totally hair-free in the treated area, however areas such as the bikini line or armpits will have such sparse growth after treatment that they can be easily and comfortably waxed.

One of the great benefits for men is that it can be used to greatly thin hair in areas that you wouldn't necessarily want to be hair-free such as the chest, arms or shoulders.

Some men use IPL on areas of the face and neck, particularly to tidy up a designer stubble look by removing hairs above and below the desired beard area.

There are 26 Destination Skin clinics across the UK, 11 of which are in London. Many of the clinics are within House of Fraser stores.

They are designed with a clean and clinical look to emphasise the high technology approach and to demostrate that they are more about non-invasive corrective treatments than pampering.
