The epitome of a traditional English wedding venue, Danesfield House Hotel is an award-winning luxury country house hotel situated in rural Buckinghamshire between Henley-on-Thames and Marlow.

The hotel is privately owned and is set in a Grade II listed building set in acres of classically manicured gardens and boasts 4 AA Rosettes for its cuisine.

Weddings and receptions can take place in a choice of ornate rooms, or in a marquee for very large weddings.

Four rooms are licensed for civil ceremonies for between 30 and 100 guests. After the ceremony, your drinks reception can be held on the south facing patio or the aptly named Grand Hall.

For all but the smaller weddings, the wedding breakfast is held in the stunning Versailles Suite which is perfectly suited to a traditional banqueting lay-out on a long, wide table with the bride and groom in the centre.

For weddings over 100 guests, Danesfield House will arrange for a marquee to be erected on the flat lawns adjacent to the hotel.

The wedding package, which currently starts from £145 per guest, includes most of the essentials such as a toastmaster, flowers, accommodation for the bride and groom and a generous three glasses of champagne per guest, and they are happy to arrange all the additional services you require such as the cake and photographer. The on-site spa is conveniently located for doing make up and manicures.

In keeping with many large country house hotels, exclusive use can be arranged but is unusual. Staff carefully manage timings to ensure an appropriate level of privacy is attained while keeping the hotel open for other guests.

The hotel boasts 87 guest bedrooms ranging from the Tower Suite to luxurious doubles and family rooms.

Due to the lay out of the hotel, every room is different and all are fitted with period furniture and all the amenities you will need for a very comfortable stay. Bathrooms are spacious with plenty of marble and luxurious toiletries from L'Occitaine.

The Tower Suite is well suited as a honeymoon suite with a characterful staircase winding up to a four poster bedroom on the third floor, and a private sitting room below. If it isn't available you won't be at all disappointed by any of the other rooms, especially those on the south side of the building which benefits from a great view of the gardens and the Thames.

Guests staying at the hotel receive complimentary access to the award winning Danesfield House Spa throughout their stay.

Danesfield are justifiably proud of their 4 AA Rosette restaurant named after, and run by, Michelin Star holder Adam Simmonds. Adam has worked under Marco Pierre White and Raymond Blanc and offers an interesting menu for wedding breakfasts.

For guests planning to spend the weekend, The Orangery Restaurant offers slightly more relaxed yet elegant dining in glass fronted surroundings overlooking the south facing patio and serves a delicious breakfast and an excellent traditional Sunday roast.
