Bridal Boot Camp

Many brides worry about their weight and obviously want to be as gorgeous and slim as possible for their dream day. With this in mind and being a bride herself next year, Ellie Sanderson decided to get to work with her local gym to come up with a programme that will target all those areas we love to hate. Following a number of meetings with her local gym BODY RESPONSE and their trainers, a programme was put together to support brides in the final months before the wedding. Ellie has been on the programme now for two months to see what results could be obtained.

“I am totally delighted,” says Ellie, “I have seen inch loss, improved muscle tone and more than anything a real zest for life...” Quite scary really as Ellie is already full of life!

Apart from her own personal goals, Ellie was becoming increasingly worried with girls doing the last minute starvation diet to get into their gowns and then watching them yo-yo diet during fittings in the months up to the wedding. "The biggest concern for us is when we start to fit a bridal gown and the bride says she is still losing weight, we also know that she will lose a few pounds in that final fortnight before her wedding.  This makes fitting her gown take longer than it should, and wastes their valuable time before the wedding. The idea of the BRIDAL BOOTCAMP is to establish that weight loss before the first fittings start and then maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle and weight in the 8 weeks before the wedding,’’ says Ellie.

So, two months before a bride starts her fitting she will be emailed and invited to join bridal boot camp.  That gives her eight weeks to lose weight and just as importantly focus on healthy eating, improve muscle tone and improve energy levels. There are about 6 brides per boot camp so it's great fun to be with other girls with the same goals. The BODY RESPONSE trainers do weekly sessions and all brides have exercises to do away from the gym. Everyone is weighed in, measured and has agreed on goals.

Ellie Sanderson says, "It's really good fun and quite intense. Vicky and Emma, the trainers, are lovely girls, but don’t take any nonsense from anyone who is being a bit lightweight. Expect to be challenged!”

“We are really excited about this.  We already do boot camps so have lots of experience but working with Ellie to tailor the programme for brides has been great fun," says Vicky, the owner of BODY RESPONSE in Beaconsfield. "We will run about 6 boot camps a year so this should work with most brides to be and their busy schedules.”
