Healthy, happy hair is all a part of the feel good factor on your big day. Wedding planning can be stressful, but, it doesn't have to be a reason to pull at your hair or for it to fall out! Together with Trichologist Sally-Ann Tarver, we've taken a look at her handy pointers for keeping your hair in tip-top condition ahead of those all important occasions!

The fear of thinning hair can be a nightmare, especially if you're on the brink of a special day where big big hair is in order! For hair that's well taken care of and perfect to style, follow these simple steps to prevent hair loss...

Protein up!

Keep an eye on your protein levels - an increase of protein in your diet can be highly beneficial for protecting the hair on your head. Try to achieve the recommended intake of 45g throughout your day. Of course, the correct portions of meat and fish will go a long way -  superfood bars are also great for this when you need to top up!

Wear your hair down

Tight ponytails, frequent blowdries and weighty hair extensions can take their toll your hair by putting a strain on the follicles. If your hair is feeling a little thin, give it a break by choosing a loose hairstyle or simply wearing it down. This can do wonders for your haircare routine!

Take your vitamins

Stay energised and prevent nutritional deficiencies by ensuring that you're taking all the vitamins which you need to. Hair loving vitamins B12 and Vitamin D, for example, work to ensure healthy hair growth. If your B12 levels are a little low, eating more meat, fish, eggs and dairy along with a quality B complex will pump them up! Equally, iron supplements will give you a reboot. Keep an eye out for Vitamin D deficiency by keeping your GP informed of any overly frequent hair loss.

Ask an expert

If you're concerned about thinning hair, there are plenty of experts and treatments to fix these problems! A session of laser phototherapy is one method to improve the structure of your hair, aiding with growth. You can even do this from home with beauty tech such as the Theradome! Don't ignore your worries, a Trichologist will be more than happy to consult with you on any problems which you are having, so, why not book an appointment?

Take care

Look after your hair and scalp with a thorough haircare routine and, most importantly, try to live as healthy a lifestyle as possible: Healthy mind and body = healthy hair!

We hope that these tips are helpful, now you're ready to find inspiration for your bridal hair! - If  you're looking to tackle other beauty issues we've covered winter skin here. 💕
