Whatever you plan to do on your honeymoon, Barbados is likely to accommodate you; from tranquil secluded beaches and restaurants on the west coast to the more vibrant nightlife on the east coast and around the capital of Bridgetown.

If you plan to explore further than the 700 square miles of beaches then there are many activities and sights to Barbados. One of the most popular is golf, which is frequently played at one of the many premier golf courses such as the Royal Westmoreland Golf and Country club. There is also horse riding throughout the island’s plantations and many trails to explore the island’s national parks. Other trails include a safari through the Scotland district. Also, water sports are extremely popular where scuba diving and snorkelling are used to explore the islands surrounding shipwrecks and diverse marine life. Diving equipment and excursions are easily organised through the islands main hotel resorts.

To enjoy the culture of Barbados, you may choose to visit the capital- Bridgetown, often known as the ‘little England’ of the Caribbean, where there are many buildings reflecting the English heritage of the island. For those who wish to explore the heritage, there are plenty of museums and colonial buildings to visit or they can go to areas such as Broad Street, a shopping haven full of boutiques and department stores.

If you wish to spend your honeymoon over fine dining then Barbados’ gourmet oceanfront restaurants are perfect. They often set a dress code, adding to the atmosphere of your celebration. The menus in these restaurants primarily offer seafood often including the Bejan signature dish of flying fish amongst many others. However, if you prefer a more local experience there are an array of bistros and bars serving traditional meals with jazz, calypso and steel drum bands.

Whether it is a luxury villa or a double suite you are planning to stay in, you can be sure to be catered for in the Barbados resorts. Websites such as Only Exclusive Travel show luxury accommodation for a five-star honeymoon.
If you are looking for something to cater more to a budget then resorts such as The Amaryllis Beach Resort have accommodation to suit most budgets. The Honeymoon Suite may be an obvious choice, or you can take advantage of the many rooms at reasonable prices.
