Of course, there is no end to places you can pick for your stag or hen do, but to help you decide, here are the most popular cities for stag and hen nights/weekends:

Firstly you will need to decide on a location, do you simply want a night out in your hometown? A weekend break in a UK city? Or travel further still? There is an infinite number of locations to choose from so plan accordingly to your budget and how many people are going.

This is obviously crucial in deciding where you are going; you will need to take into consideration that it should be a memorable place without being too overtaken with other parties. It should be somewhere exciting but without being too far away so that it boosts travel costs out of the budget, and most importantly it has to meet the requirements of what you all want to do.

Decide what the focus of your stay will be, if you are going for a night of clubbing, you may be happy with a basic hotel. This can be perfect if you are budgeting for a stag or hen night focused on activities or a night out where a chain hotel such as a Premier Travel Inn or Travelodge will give you a comfortable and affordable room. If you are travelling out of the UK, a guesthouse may be the alternative. However, you may wish to place the focus of your stay in a hotel with many amenities such as a spa and restaurants. If you are after a luxury stay and have a flexible budget, four or five star hotels such as the De Vere Grand in Brighton, and the Hotel Du Vin in Birmingham may be more suitable.

However, if you plan to relax in the countryside or have an ‘outdoors’ style break with your party, then renting a cottage is a good option. A popular coastal countryside destination for a stag do is in Kent. The Cottage Guide is a great starting point to find a suitable cottage in locations over the UK. Activities are what will provide the main enjoyment out of your hen or stag celebrations; therefore it is important to plan wisely.

Popular daytime activities for hens often include health spas and pampering yet quad biking and paintballing are becoming increasingly popular with the ladies (remember to keep injuries to a minimum before the big day though!) as well as the stags. Horse racing, clay pigeon shooting and rally karting are also popular all round and have centres nationwide. The choice of evening activities are endless as ‘anything goes.’ Popular activities range from perhaps a more civilised riverboat cruise to a more ‘merry’ evening at an adonis cabaret or a nightclub. Casinos are popular for parties looking to enjoy drinks over ‘Vegas’ style glamour, and a meal followed by a night at the dogs can be equally as enjoyable. The benefits of such activities are that they require relatively minimal planning as they are found in most cities.
