We're lucky enough that the city of London is home to hundreds of incredible wedding venues, all with views of the capital that make for fantastic photo backgrounds. We've scouted out some top London wedding venues with a view to die for that are guaranteed to be all over your guests' Instagram feeds.

1. The Yacht

What could be better than stepping aboard a 1927 luxury steam yacht?! The Yacht is permanently moored on the North Bank of the Thames and makes an unusual waterside wedding venue that boasts some stunning views of the river that would make great backgrounds for your wedding pictures!

With 4 different wedding areas spread over 3 decks, The Yacht London is a licensed wedding venue that works for all seasons. The Stateroom Lounge is perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony and is able to accommodate 40 guests standing or 20 seated guests. Follow up with drinks in The Art Deco Cocktail Lounge, a private bar that can accommodate 40 guests standing or 30 seated guests. For larger ceremonies or wedding breakfasts, The Restaurant and The Top Deck Bar and Terrace can accommodate 100 seated guests. Enjoy the bespoke dining packages available while you take in panoramic views of the Thames.

2. Searcys at the Gherkin

Gaze over London as you say 'I do' at this impressive Central London landmark, whose quirky architecture gives it panoramic views across the city. You can tie the knot on the 39th floor of this iconic building, with amazing 360 degree views across the capital, before heading up to the top of the glass dome for your wedding breakfast. The space can fit 140 seated guests or 260 standing guests, which makes it ideal for big weddings, and you'll be able to watch the lights go down over London as you enjoy an incredible bespoke menu created for you by Gherkin head chef, Daniel Loftin. What better view to dance the night away to than the sparkling lights of the city?

If you're having a smaller wedding, then there's no need to despair! There are private dining rooms on the 38th floor that are ideal for small city weddings or elopements. Named after clouds (Alto, Cirrus, Stratus, Cumulus and Nimbus), these rooms can accommodate 10 people for a private sit-down dinner, or you can hire out the whole floor for parties of up to 60 people.

3. Coq D'Argent

Coq D'Argent is a French brasserie, cocktail bar, and now London wedding venue! Head up to the heated rooftop garden for some of the most spectacular views London has to offer, set within a private garden setting with striking architecture. Originally designed by Arabella Lennox-Boyd, the restaurant is sleek and elegant, from the walnut-panelled walls to the upholstered banquettes and leather chairs. You couldn't find a better foodie wedding venue, either - Coq D'Argent is famed for its French cuisine and excellent wine pairings.

The restaurant, bar, terraces and garden can be hired for exclusive use during the evening, and the venue's events team are there to help guide you through every wedding detail, from menu planning and seating plans to flowers and finishing touches. Coq D'Argent can accommodate 150 seated guests with space for a dancefloor during summer, 110 seated guests with space for a dancefloor during winter, and 300 standing guests for an evening wedding reception.

4. Trinity House

Trinity House is the base of the General Lighthouse Authority and not only is it licensed for civil ceremonies, but it also has some great views of the historic Tower of London. Conveniently located in central London a short walk from the Tower Hill underground station, the venue overlooks the picturesque Trinity Square Gardens, which means it's right in the heart of the city. This is the ideal wedding venue for history lovers, as the building’s Georgian façade was designed by Samuel Wyatt in 1794, and inside you'll find many remarkable maritime artefacts - including the bell from the Royal Yacht Britannia - that reflect Trinity House's prominent role in Britain's maritime history.

Trinity House can accommodate up to 180 standing guests and 130 seated guests. For your big day, you'll be able to choose between five beautiful banqueting rooms – The Library, Court Room, Pepys Room, Luncheon Room and Reading Room. The oval-shaped Library is the venue’s most spacious room, seating up to 130 guests. We love the impressive minstrels’ gallery and beautiful 16th and 17th stained glass windows, which cast a stunning light over proceedings. As an alternative, take a look at the south-facing Court Room, which is a light and airy space that can accommodate standing receptions of up to 130 guests and wedding breakfasts of 60 guests.

5. Tower Bridge

Forget riverside wedding venues - why not choose a venue that stretches over the Thames instead? Host your wedding at London's iconic Tower Bridge, a central London venue with unrivalled views of the river Thames. The high-level Walkways and the North Tower Lounge are licensed for wedding ceremonies and offer incredible panoramic views of the city that will leave your wedding guests breathless. The venues are available for exclusive use once Tower Bridge Exhibition has closed to visitors for the day, so you'll have the perfect evening view.

For a unique wedding reception venue, you can also hire out Victorian Engine Rooms, which are home to the coal-powered engines once used for the Tower Bridge lifts. This striking space can accommodate 120 guests for a standing reception, or 60 seated guests for a memorable wedding breakfast.

6. OXO2

Perfectly located on the South Bank, OXO2 has its own events space on the second floor, perfect for hosting a wedding or a glamorous evening reception with a glittering view of the city over the river. The venue is licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and partnerships and the two stunning gallery-style rooms are ideal for helping your wedding to flow seamlessly from ceremony to reception and through to the wedding breakfast. The sleek, clean interiors make this space the perfect blank canvas London wedding venue, and you can easily add your own personality through decor, lighting and music. The flexible space means you can truly tailor the venue to your specifications, whether you're having a large wedding or an intimate gathering. OXO2 can accommodate 50 to 220 seated guests for dinner, or 50 to 400 for a standing reception.
