There are plenty of beautiful wedding venues in the North of England. Whether you're looking for a historic manor house in Yorkshire or a country inn in Lancashire, there's a wedding venue for every kind of day. We've picked out five of our favourites from James' Places to share with you today...

Falcon Manor

Rescued from benign neglect in 2015, Falcon Manor was sympathetically restored, redecorated and relaunched as the Yorkshire Dales' most romantic wedding venue.
 This country manor hotel is a stunning building, in a stunning location.

Strong and determined on the outside yet wonderfully soft and warm on the inside, Falcon Manor Hotel is the perfect combination for a rural wedding venue. The light-filled Garden Room can accommodate 80 guests for a licensed civil ceremony, or you could hold an outdoor ceremony in the beautiful gardens or terraces.

The Shireburn Arms Hotel

At the heart of the Ribble Valley, surrounded by stunning countryside, is The Shireburn Arms Hotel. This wonderful 17th-century inn has been lovingly restored to create a country wedding venue filled with charm, character, and warmth. If you're looking for a wedding venue that's rustic, romantic and relaxed, then The Shireburn Arms Hotel could be perfect for you! The Ribble Room is able to host up to 100 guests for a licensed civil ceremony, and there are 20 charming bedrooms for your closest friends and family.

Mitton Hall

Based on the banks of the river that gives its name to the Ribble Valley, Mitton Hall has been restored and recreated as the ultimate dream wedding venue.
 Effortlessly beautiful and unashamedly romantic, this venue's ancient architecture is enhanced by inspired contemporary interior design. There are thoughtful touches everywhere for your guests to enjoy, not to mention photo opportunities galore both inside and out. The fabulous Party Room can hold up to 180 seated guests, with space for 350 for the evening reception.

Eaves Hall

Eaves Hall is a gorgeous Georgian-style country house, which sits in the heart of Lancashire’s beautiful Ribble Valley.
 This exclusive use wedding venue has been refurbished and re-decorated to create a contemporary space within 13 acres of superbly kept gardens and grounds. With this in mind, Eaves Hall really does present the most picture-perfect backdrop for your celebrations. The Ballroom holds up to 60 guests for a licensed civil ceremony, and the Pendle Room holds 120 people. There's also a beautiful new Wedding Pavilion outside for outdoor wedding ceremonies!

Holmes Mill

Holmes Mill

Holmes Mill, Greenacre Street, Clitheroe Lancashire BB7 1EB

Once a decaying 19th-century cotton mill, Holmes Mill is now the most incredible and wholly unique wedding venue in the North West.
 The ambitious restoration project has taken over three years to complete, but what a restoration it has been! The Cotton Room is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and can accommodate up to 150 guests, all seated on reclaimed cinema seating. After the big day, your guests can retire to one of 39 beautiful bedrooms in the 1823 Spinning Block Hotel, which is part of the Holmes Mill Complex.
