Whimsical ideas for a winter wedding

There's something undeniably magical about a winter wedding, so if you're looking for winter wedding ideas or decorations, then we have some beautiful ideas for your big day...

Pine cones

These natural beauties are perfect for winter wedding decor, as they are free to source, give any wedding a cozy feel, and can be used for a variety of purposes. Spray them with metallic or white spray for a sparkling or snow-covered finish, or leave them au natural and use them as vase fillers, place names or as part of your wedding bouquet.

Presents

If it's coming up to Christmas, then embrace it by gift-wrapping your favours to give to your guests, or giving out your Christmas presents during your wedding breakfast. If you have a Christmas tree as part of your decor, then placing the presents under the tree is an extra cute touch.

Mistletoe

Another Christmas classic is mistletoe. As your wedding day will be full of kisses, why not embrace this holiday tradition and use mistletoe as part of your winter decor? Place springs over the ceremony location for a sweet photo opportunity, or use it as part of your floral arrangements to spread the romance around.

Lanterns

Lighting is key for your winter wedding, as it starts to get dark quickly during the cooler months. The right lighting will give the reception a cozy, romantic feel, and we love the look of lanterns hung from beams and in trees, or placed around the venue.

Greenery

There are fewer flowers in bloom in winter, so make the most of the natural foliage and have a wedding full of evergreens. Greenery is still a massive trend in the wedding world, and works with practically every wedding theme!

Fairy lights

Fairy lights work for weddings in every season, but they look especially beautiful for winter weddings. Wound around beams or trees, strung up as chandeliers, placed in hurricane glasses with twigs, or hung up as curtain backdrops, fairy lights are a must-have for romantic weddings. Buy them in the January sales for a great price!

Candles

Another romantic lighting option that can't be overlooked is the candle, and these are just perfect for giving your winter wedding that glow. Be sure to check with your venue with their rules about open flames, or opt for clever electronic candles if they don't allow it! We love these hanging candles in hanging glass bubbles.
