The staff during the wedding were all excellent. They were friendly, polite and accommodating to our and our guests needs. In particular Rasvan, the hotel manager, did a sterling job running the function room transitions throughout the day, and accommodating the guest who arrived the day before. In addition, everything ran smoothly and to time on the day, which I imagine is easier said than done for a wedding event!
The food on the day was delicious, warm and decent in quantity. Ahead of the day there was a good menu selection to choose from. To our surprise, we found the food on the day to be better than the taster session (£25 pp). We would recommend trying the taster session as we ended up choosing differently to our initial thoughts. Quite importantly, the hotel was able to cater for our guests with dietary requirements including a guest with coeliac disease.
The rooms are also good: very clean, spacious and elegant. We stayed in the of the 4-poster room which was beautiful. The guests also loved staying over and visiting the farm shop across the road. Advantageously, the hotel was easy for the guests to get to, as the hotel is located 1 mile from the Milton Hill interchange.
Planning the wedding schedule and logistics at Steventon House Hotel was straight forwarded. We interacted with Jeevan, who is part of the events team at the hotel. We met with her a few times before the wedding and also communicated by email. She provided very clear and detailed guidance on how to run the day, their recommended suppliers, catering options and payment. The hotel easily accommodated our alternative suppliers and provided decent advice to us as we set the venue ourselves.
Overall an excellent experience, we had such a wonderful wedding day. Highly recommended and we will return to Steventon House Hotel for dinner on special occasions.
