As soon as we drove up the long drive to Redworth hall we knew this was going to be the perfect setting for our May wedding. Set in 26 acres of landscaped gardens, this provided us with the perfect backdrop to take many beautiful photos, but also if it rained, inside was just as spectacular with its old Jacobean staircase and Great Hall. Situated just off the a1, it was easy for family to get to. We had family members travelling from all over the UK and the hotel housed plenty of rooms to rest their heads after their drive. The hotel has many rooms in which couples can get married but we chose the Great Hall, one of the oldest parts of the hotel which dates back to 1693 with its original fireplaces and original wood floor. We had 99 people our wedding which fit perfectly into the Great hall for both our wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast. On the evening, many more people attended therefore we booked out the Prince Bishop suite where we had a band and a large dancefloor for the party. I stayed at the hotel with my bridesmaids the night before the wedding and had a relaxed night enjoying the spa with a relaxing massage and some good food in the evening.
Our wedding co-ordinator was called Sarah who was very experienced and accommodated all of our wishes. Sarah was friendly and seemed excited to be planning our wedding with us. She went through every final detail with us prior to the wedding to make sure no detail was left untouched. No question was a problem for Sarah and I sent her numerous emails which was met with a quick response. The wedding package was reasonably priced and compared to other venues included added extras such as a two tier wedding cake, table centrepieces, chair covers and also flowers for the top table, all able to be upgraded if need be.
On the day, the wedding went without a hitch. The sun shone and the day ran like clockwork thanks to the hotel staff who were professional throughout. Our meal was beautiful and included creamy vegetable soup to start, roast chicken dinner with vegetables and then a creme brûlée to finish. We were led through every step of the way by the master of ceremonies Damien.
The funniest moment of the day was on the evening when the resident DJ Geoff decided to make us play a game. Steven and I sat back to back with one another on the dancefloor and took one of each other's shoe. The DJ proceeded to go through a number of questions in which we had to put our shoe up as to who the question fit e.g who is the worst driver?, who is the most untidy? Everyone had a good laugh and it made people relax which resulted in everyone up at dancing at the end of the night with a few sore heads the next morning!
Our lasting memory of Redworth hall would be our perfect wedding day. We could not have picked a better place to get married and all of our guests commented on how beautiful the wedding was. Redworth hall will always hold a place in our hearts with very happy memories. [Read less]
We chose Redworth Hall for many reasons, it is a beautiful place with great staff; which is why we were over the moon when we realised it was affordable. It was stress free Redworth did everything; we asked, they sorted and we couldn’t be more thankful. Our wedding coordinator Debra was great she helped us get the best value for money and gave us helpful advice (as we have never done this before we were a little lost with everything we needed to know). Damian on the day was brilliant he kept my mad family right and was very understanding when I would ask random questions. We thank you both for everything you did.
The whole day was brilliant! We had a fantastic day and couldn’t be happier with Redworth Hall. The grounds are beautiful as is the grand Hall and we have lovely photographs.
I think the funniest moment was the game the DJ (Jeff) got us to play, it was out of the blue and I am not one for games but it was a good way to break up the night with a giggle, especially because my husband was confused on the rules!
I have so many memories from that day. I will always remember Redworth Hall as a beautiful place that was filled with our family and friends and fabulous staff that couldn’t do enough to help us! [Read less]
From the moment we were engaged we started planning our big day. We had been looking around a number of venues in the northeast but none really stood out. We then visited Redworth Hall Hotel and we were absolutely blown away before we had got to the end of the drive way. The hotel and the surrounding grounds were perfect, just what we wanted. We then entered The Great Hall and this was just the icing on the cake. A beautiful venue that we knew everyone would love. The bonus of having a DJ, a beautiful cake provided by Kelly-Ann’s and stunning flower arrangements included in the price meant we could focus on other parts of the day.
The team at Redworth were fantastic and very accommodating, helping us along the way taking on board all of our, sometimes bizarre, requirements without any fuss. The organisation was seamless and was evident on the day as everything flowed perfectly including setting up over 100 scrabble racks, a double decker party bus and a random beans and sausage starter for the best man. The team were always on hand, without being intrusive, whenever we needed them and we can’t thank them enough.
Our DJ, Geoff, was a big highlight on the day as he always had our chosen music playing and had people on the dance floor even when they were flagging. The best and funniest part of the day came when Geoff played an impromptu game of Mr and Mrs which had everyone laughing. Something we knew nothing about but always remember with a smile.
Everyone who attended the day has said how it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to and this was partly down to the venue and team who looked after everyone. [Read less]
Redworth was always a strong contender when selecting our wedding venue mainly due to its grand exterior and picturesque grounds. Once we met with Deborah our wedding coordinator and viewed the function rooms we knew we had found the place where we become husband and wife. Deborah travelled our journey with us, nothing was too much trouble, she made us feel at ease with her down-to-earth character whilst maintaining professionalism at every contact. All of our requests were fulfilled from the layout of the ceremony / reception rooms to special dietary requirements. Everything went to plan on the wedding day itself and not only did we fell like real VIPs but our guests did too. If we could change one thing?? Nothing. Everything was better that we had imagined. Redworth will always hold a special place in our hearts. Our wedding day was everything we dreamt it would be and more. [Read less]
