“Samantha was an absolute joy to work with, we were in regular contact by phone / email and in person over the course of 18 months. Her responsiveness, organisation and professionalism was astounding. She went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and was always flexible. When we arrived at Pennyhill Park the day before the wedding, we caught up with Samantha and the banqueting manager on the day Laura. Both were absolutely wonderful to deal with and put us completely at ease. The day itself was absolutely flawless - I say that with a great deal of irony given that there were apparently all kinds of panics with an accident on the motorway causing late guests, late suppliers and the dreaded RAIN. By the time I was headed to the Pavilion for our ceremony, all the guests were in place, the suppliers had arrived, and I couldn't see a trace of rain. This is huge testament to the team at Pennyhill Park who dealt with this seamlessly - putting covers out over the setup when it did rain, managing all the suppliers / guests during the delay and literally holding out till the last second before making the final decision on holding the ceremony outdoors. The wedding breakfast and reception was a dream come true - we handed a huge box of goods to Samantha and Laura the day before (decorations, favours, guest book / polaroid) with very limited instructions and by the time we entered the Balmoral suite, everything was laid out perfectly.Having over 20 members of family and friends staying at the hotel the night before and the night of the wedding, I would say we were a pretty demanding bunch (especially me), but the hotel staff were incredible. A massive thank you to Rob the concierge and all the team, for dealing with all our bizarre requests (including shuttling favours, glasses, bar stools, as well as luggage between rooms, and heralding the golf buggy at every given opportunity to drop us off at the spa) quickly, efficiently and always with a smile. The chef / catering staff (both banqueting and for the hotel) are amazing, the food was genuinely out of this world. Over the course of this whole process, I've lost count of how many times I've eaten at Pennyhill Park, but from wedding breakfast food tasting, the hotel buffet breakfast, room service, the Ascot bar even the crackers/chutney for our cheese cake - we've only ever had exceptional food at the hotel. Being somewhat foodies, it is one of the main reasons we chose Pennyhill Park (alongside the stunning location) and it did not disappoint. The rooms our family members stayed in were incredible - and the team kindly gave us various upgrades and late check outs to accommodate the wedding timetable. Each of the rooms was different and had so much character. I was in the Lytham suite the night before the wedding and we had the Heywood suite on our wedding night - both rooms stunning. The Lytham is huge, has a lovely terrace and the bathroom is to die for - modern, sleek, blue lit, TV above the bath, showers from all directions... The Heywood was the wedding suite of our dreams, has an amazing balcony from which we could see out to where we'd gotten married the day before, another amazing bathroom (with a hammam function in the shower!). It goes without saying (as the largest spa in the UK) that the spa is wonderful. Pennyhill Park is head and shoulders over any other spa we've been to. Having our wedding at Pennyhill Park was the best (wedding) decision we've ever made and worth every penny. I cannot find a bad word to say about any part of the whole process and I would recommend Pennyill Park in a heartbeat to any brides/grooms-to-be, as well as anyone looking for a spa weekend, a luxurious overnight stay or even just a lovely dinner.
