My husband and I actually got married at the Mercure Holland House on the 5th April this year. We had stayed here previously and loved the hotel for the price, location, quality of food and atmosphere so when we started looking for venues last June it came to mind - and we're so glad it did!
We opted for a hotel so that we could hold the ceremony, wedding breakfast and reception in the same venue as we had people travelling from overseas to be with us and wanted to make life as easy as possible for them. We were initially concerned that a hotel wedding would be too generic and not 'us' enough, but honestly the staff could not have been more open to our ideas for the day and bent over backwards to make sure that we had the day we wanted. There was no 'one size fits all' attitude and no pressure for us to go with what people usually did - in fact the staff had some amazing ideas of their own to make it super-special for us.
In addition to the convenience and the wonderful staff the hotel also offered a very competitive package and gave us exclusive guest rates for both the Friday before the wedding and the night of, to make staying a little more affordable for our guests.
We could not have been more thrilled with how our day was planned and managed and can not speak highly enough of this venue. Well worth a visit!
